Too Late For Regrets, Mr. Billionaire (Brianna Meyers and Brandon Levy) novel Chapter 133

Chapter 133 The Only Man

By the time Brandon arrived in Gurphis, Kendra and Clair were already thick as thieves.

Kendra was tossing “Clair” around like confetti, calling him that every chance she got.

Brandon felt a headache coming on.

“Is Uncle Clair really that nice to you?” he asked, his voice tinged with jealousy.

“Yeah, Clair is super nice to me, and he’s really good to Mom too,” Kendra said, grinning as she bragged about all the thoughtful things Clair had done.

“Alright, alright, I’ll spend more time with you from now on,” Brandon said, rubbing his temples.

“I want Clair to come too. Dad, can we invite him to play with us next time?” Kendra asked, completely oblivious to her father’s jealousy.

Brandon’s face darkened, but he was helpless when it came to his precious girl.

Brianna laughed. ‘Wasn’t that what he said before? He said there was nothing wrong with kids getting close to their aunt, right?’

“It’s totally fine for kids to stick with people who are good to them,” Brianna retorted to Brandon.

That sounded familiar to Brandon, and he gave her a wounded look.

“Kendra, do you like Clair?” Brianna asked, unable to resist poking fun at Brandon.

“Yeah, I like Clair the most!” Kendra replied with a sweet smile.

Brandon was about to lose it.

“Alright, alright, I get it,” he said, glaring at Brianna like a sulky spouse.

Suddenly, Brianna remembered something serious. She wanted to confirm her suspicions.

“Can you ask if Allison’s still in Gurphis?” Brianna said. “She invited us to dinner the other day, but we couldn’t make it. See if she wants to grab dinner with us sometime?”

Brandon thought she was being jealous. “I’ve moved on from all that with her.”

“Yeah, I know. It’s just dinner, right?” Brianna shot back.

The more he tried to explain, the more it would look like there was actually something going on.

Brandon figured she was just hung up on the past. He thought it over and decided the best way to clear things up was to just meet up.

He dialed Allison’s number.

She sounded genuinely surprised. “Brandon? Why are you calling me?”

“Allie, are you still in Gurphis?” Brandon asked, a smile tugging at his lips.

‘Allie? I’ve never heard him use a nickname like that for anyone except Kendra, Brianna thought. ‘Looks like Allison must be pretty important to him.

“Yeah, I’m still here. Actually, I ran into your wife and kid a couple days ago,” Allison said.

“Yeah, Brianna mentioned it,” Brandon replied, shooting Brianna a look. Noticing her face, he quickly got to the point. “Are you free? I’m in Gurphis. Want to grab dinner?”

“Totally, I’m free tonight, Allison said, sounding super casual.

“Alright, I’ll check out some spots and text you,” Brandon said.

“Nah, let me handle it. I know Gurphis inside out. Your wife and kid are coming too, right? I’ll pick somewhere fun for the little one,” Allison said, already making plans.

It was still early before dinner, so the couple invited Clair to go shopping with them and Kendra.

After Brandon arrived, Clair’s enthusiasm instantly cooled off, like someone had poured cold water all over him.

Clair was holding back his frustration. He really didn’t want to go, but he forced himself to act cheerful and went out with the family of three.

Kendra was stuck to Clair, walking ahead and jabbering away without a pause.

Brianna and Brandon walked behind them.

Suddenly, Brianna remembered something and said casually. “Did you know Reese has a place in Gurphis?”

“Nope, I didn’t know that,” Brandon replied.

Brianna gave him the address.

“You think Darcy and the others are hiding out in Drokvine?” Brandon asked.

“I’m not sure. They’ve got properties all over the place overseas, so honestly, I have no clue where they’re staying,” Brianna said.
