Chapter 134 Interview Reveals Family Turmoil
Back at the hotel, Brianna had a suite, and Brandon stayed in the other room instead of booking his own.
After Brianna finished helping Kendra wash up, Brandon read with Kendra while Brianna went to freshen up.
When she came out of the shower, Kendra was already fast asleep.
Brandon was still reading, as if he was waiting for her.
Brianna towel-dried her hair as she left the room, careful not to wake Kendra, and headed to the living room to finish. drying her hair.
Brandon followed b out, gently shutting the door behind him.
Once she finished drying her hair, Brianna looked at him, waiting for him to speak.
“The Unity Group situation is settled,” Brandon said.
“Are you going to restructure it?” Brianna asked.
“Yeah, I’m buying out Unity Group, splitting it up, and then reorganizing it,” Brandon replied. He’d had a few drinks earlier, and his charming eyes looked a bit dreamy.
Buying out Unity Group meant taking on all its debts.
Capitalists only care about profit, but Brandon was willing to go this far for Brianna. He’d always been ice-cold, but tonight, even he felt himself softening a little.
“Thank you,” Brianna said with a smile at Brandon. “Are you going to lose a lot of money?”
Her genuine smile was as warm as a spring breeze, and when Brandon saw it, his heart melted a little. He felt something stir inside him.
“I’ll need to patch up the losses in the beginning, but once the project’s finished, things will be alright.” Brandon said, his voice a bit lower.
Brianna nodded and gave his hand a gentle squeeze. “I honestly don’t know how to thank you enough.”
She was about to crack a joke, but honestly, she’d made up her mind long ago not to take any shares in Unity Group.
Brandon had sacrificed for this. Those plots in Valmere were rightfully his.
When Brianna took his hand, the instant their skin met, it felt like a surge of electricity shot through him.
Brandon turned his hand and gripped hers firmly.
He gave a gentle pull, and Brianna tumbled right into his embrace/ His other arm locked around her waist, keeping her pressed against him.
His voice dripped with seduction, and his gaze was smoldering with longing. “You know how to thank me.”
Brianna placed her hands on his shoulders, feeling his whole body tense beneath her touch.
After so many years as husband and wife, she was all too familiar with his desire.
The atmosphere between them grew increasingly intimate. Their eyes met, and desire simmered in the space between.
She wasn’t some saint. She had her own feelings and needs, just like anyone else. Heat flooded through her, making her whole body feel restless.
The subtle scent of his cologne tempted her closer, making her want to lean in and breathe him in.
She lowered her head, leaning in to press her lips against his.
As things got steamy, Brandon leaned in, biting her earlobe with a possessive intensity. He whispered right in her ear, “Come on, tell me. When you were just a naive girl, who did you fall for?”
“You,” Brianna whispered breathlessly, her mind completely foggy. She answered without even thinking.
Brandon clamped her wrists even tighter, his voice full of threat. “Be straight with me. Was it Clair?”
With her hands pinned, Brianna couldn’t move. She strained to lift her head and kissed his throat. “It’s you. Only you.”
Hearing the answer he wanted, Brandon smirked with a devilish charm in the darkness. He pulled her closer, intoxicated by her allure, losing himself in her completely.
Afterward, the two of them fell asleep in each other’s arms, utterly spent.
The next morning. Brianna opened her eyes and found herself snuggled up in Brandon’s arms.
His chiseled face was so close, their foreheads were touching.
Ugh, not again. My head hurts. She carefully eased herself out of his arms, thinking to herself, ‘Better keep some distance from him.
But as soon as she turned away, Brandon’s large hand slipped around her, pulling her right back against his chest.
“Just sleep a little longer,” Brandon murmured softly in her ear.
His warm breath brushed against the back of her ear, making her cheeks flush.-
He said they should sleep a little longer, but his hand on her chest just couldn’t behave itself.
As his breathing grew heavier and his hand pressed down harder, Brianna grabbed his hand to keep him in check. “Kendra’s about to wake up. Don’t let her hear.”
She just wanted to stop him. But to her surprise, Brandon got the wrong idea.
“Okay, I’ll take it slow,” Brandon leaned in, pulling her close.
Brianna was just about to pull back. But then, a knock sounded at the door.
“Mommy?” Kendra’s sleepy voice called out.
Brandon looked totally bummed. “Kendra, go back to bed for a bit.”
