Too Late For Regrets, Mr. Billionaire (Brianna Meyers and Brandon Levy) novel Chapter 137

Chapter 137 Rescuing Brandon

When Brianna got home, Kendra was already asleep.

She gently opened the door to the bedroom and saw her daughter sleeping peacefully. Then she headed downstairs to wait for Tristan.

It had only been a month since they last met, but when Tristan walked in, he looked completely worn out.

His brows were tightly furrowed, and his usual spark was nowhere to be seen. His eyes were clouded with worry.

“What’s wrong?” Brianna asked.

“It’s nothing.” Seeing Brianna, Tristan’s expression softened a bit, and the tension in his face eased.

Brianna poured Tristan a glass of water, not pressing him for details about his condition.

She handed him the water and asked, “Have you heard any rumors?”

Tristan took the glass and gulped it down, then said, “Word is, Brandon’s whole ordeal was a setup. They’re really after the Levy Group’s stock prices.”

“So it’s not just infighting in the family?” Brianna still suspected Margo.

“You’re talking about his sister? She couldn’t pull something like this off,” Tristan replied.

“But Benedict went on record and pointed the finger at him,” Brianna said, unable to shake her doubts.

Just as Tristan was about to speak, his phone rang. He took out his phone, declined the call, and had just put it back in his bag when it rang again.

This happened three or four times in a row.

Brianna could see the anger etched across his face. She discreetly glanced at the time. It was almost one in the morning.

Whoever kept calling him at this hour was most likely his fiancée, Nancy.

“Nancy?” Brianna asked.

“Yeah,” Tristan replied, clearly annoyed as he switched off his phone.

“Did you two fight?” she asked, feeling a bit awkward.

“She’s a total psycho!” Tristan snapped.

“She’s probably just worried about you,” Brianna said, forcing a smile.

All of a sudden, she felt that meeting up with Tristan in the middle of the night was maybe a bit inappropriate.

“She’s a total psycho! She watches me like a guard dog,” Tristan grumbled, still pissed off.

“Are you two living together?” Brianna asked.

“My dad made her move in with me,” Tristan replied.

Brianna didn’t say anything else. She thought, ‘Nancy never knows her boundaries, always so petty and small-minded. She really isn’t good enough for Tristan. But that isn’t my business.

Brianna cut off the tangent and asked, “So, what else do you know about Brandon’s mess?”

Seems like the money from Seavale and Port City is behind all the chãos,” Tristan replied, totally unbothered.

He sounded almost amused, like he was enjoying the drama.

Brianna rolled her eyes at him. “Can you be more clear?”

“Don’t get worked up,” Tristan said, seeing Brianna getting angry, his smile fading. “From what I know, the cops can’t actually charge Brandon just based on a suicide note and Benedict’s testimony. They’re hyping up the media, forcing the police to keep holding Brandon, all so they can keep tanking the Levy Group’s shares.”

Brianna listened, her frown deepening. She could handle online PR, but now that it was a criminal case, going public might not be wise.

When it came to the stock market, she was completely out of her depth and had no idea how to help

She let out a long sigh.

Seeing Brianna so troubled, Tristan found himself frowning as well.

“Don’t rush it. We’ll find a way,” he reassured her.

How could I not be freaking out with all this going on? Brianna thought to herself.

“Alright. It’s late. You should head home,” she said with a smile.

“Are you really that worried?” Tristan’s eyes were dark and deep, like the sea.

“Yeah,” Brianna nodded. “His mom doesn’t know what to do either.”

Tristan didn’t say anything. He looked at her with a complicated expression in his eyes.

After a while, he finally asked, “Do you still have feelings for him?”

Brianna’s heart skipped a beat. She shot Tristan a startled look.
