Chapter 138 Banquet for Allison
Allison discovered a flaw and helped Brandon escape danger. Gabrielle was so grateful that she insisted on hosting a grand banquet in Allison’s honor.
The family banquet was held at the Levy family’s main house, with Gabrielle and Josefina personally overseeing every detai to show Allison the utmost respect.
The night before, Brianna went to the main house.
She always felt that Allison wasn’t as simple as she looked. The way she always showed up at just the right moment was ind of suspicious.
Gabrielle was arranging the menu for the next day, with Brianna keeping her company.
“Mom, did you know Allison and Brandon dated for ages when they were abroad?” Brianna said in a gossipy tone.
Gabrielle rolled her eyes, thinking Brianna was just being jealous. “What’s the point of digging up old stuff?”
Gabrielle always believed that as long as someone could handle things and fix problems, they deserved all the credit.
“They seemed like a perfect match. So why didn’t they end up together?” Brianna asked.
Gabrielle didn’t stop what she was doing, carefully checking the menu.
“How would I know? If you’re that curious, just ask her yourself tomorrow,” she snapped back.
Brianna was left speechless and could only force a smile.
“Who cares if they were a good match? If they didn’t end up together, something must’ve been off between them,” Josefina said, taking Brianna’s hand. “Relax, Brianna. Brandon’s not like that.”
Brianna didn’t say anything. ‘If Brandon’s really not that kind of guy, then how do you explain what happened with Darcy?’
It wasn’t like Brianna was worried about Brandon cheating anymore. After everything that had happened, she’d moved on from all that drama.
But she wasn’t going to sit back and let herself be the one getting hurt again. If something felt off, she’d dig until she found the truth.
The next morning, Brianna got up early and spent her time practicing yoga and tending to the garden with Josefina, making sure Josefina was in a great mood all morning.
In the afternoon, Brandon came back to the main house earlier than usual, which was unusual for him, and started asking about the nitty-gritty of the banquet.
‘Looks like he really does care about Allison,’ she thought to herself.
The family banquet was held to thank Allison, and Clifford was the only other guest invited.
When Clifford arrived, he was holding the hand of a girl none of them had ever seen before.
After introducing her to everyone, he shot Brandon a mischievous wink, acting all mysterious.
Brandon just acted like he didn’t see it and ignored him.
“Allison’s not here yet?” Clifford asked with a grin. “Didn’t you go pick her up?”
Badn’t even gotten a chance to answer, and Clifford kept teasing, pursing his lips. “Doesn’t look like you're trying to be a good host.”
“Yeah, Brandon,” Brianna chimed in, “Why don’t you check where Allison is? Maybe you should go pick her up?”
Brandon pulled out his phone and called Allison, not thinking anything of it. By the time he finished the call, Brianna was already gone.
Clifford sidled up to him, nodding toward the dining room with a mischievous grin.
“I gotta hand it to you, Mr. Levy. An angelic wife at home, a sharp and elegant confidante outside, and the best part? They both get along just fine. That’s some real talent,” Clifford teased.
Brandon gave Clifford a light tap on the head. “Stop talking nonsense! Careful, or Allison’s gonna give you a hard time when she gets here.”
Clifford put on a dramatic sigh and shook his head. “With you around, Allison wouldn’t even give me the time of day.”
Brandon just ignored him and walked off toward the dining room.
Clifford caught up, grinning mischievously. “Hey, do you think the gorgeous Allison is actually seeing that bastard Kane?”
Hearing Clifford call Seavale’s richest man a bastard, Brandon bursted out laughing. “Curious? Just ask her when she gets here.”
Right then. Brandon’s phone rang. It was Allison, calling to say she was already at the door.
Brandon’s lips curled into a smile. He straightened his tie and hurried off toward the entrance, looking more energetic than ever.
Seeing how eager he was, Brianna frowned.
Gabrielle, wanting to give Allison full honor, walked to the living room entrance to greet her.
Brianna just followed along.
From across the hall, Brandon and Kane escorted Allison inside.
Allison was rocking a velvet suit, her hair styled in big, glamorous waves, bold red lips and porcelain skin. She radiated boss energy.
Her features were stunning, her makeup flawless, and even the way her hair fell showed she was in charge.
“Hello, Gabrielle. It’s great to see you again,” Allison said, her smile radiant as she reached out her hand.
“Long time no see, Allison. You’re getting more gorgeous every time I see you,” Gabrielle said, shaking her hand.
“Hi, Ms. Meyers,” Allison said with a beaming smile.
“Come on in,” Brianna welcomed her.
Once Kane was introduced, everyone said their hellos and moved to the living room.
Kane handed Allison the bag he’d brought.
Allison handed the gifts to Josefina and Gabrielle, her smile lighting up her whole face.
Brianna sneaked a peek at the gifts. For Josefina, it was some luxury skincare, and for Gabrielle, a designer silk scarf.
Allison’s gifts hit the sweet spot, classy enough to impress, but not so pricey they’d make anyone feel awkward,
Allison’s definitely got layers, Brianna thought to herself.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, James came in to announce dinner was ready. Gabrielle took Allison by the hand and walked her to the table.
At dinner, Clifford was cracking jokes and keeping everyone entertained, while Brandon and Allison were reminiscing about their wild days overseas.
Josefina and Gabrielle were laughing so hard they could barely stay upright.
Brianna listened with a pleasant smile, keeping her cool from start to finish, not a trace of jealousy or annoyance on her face.
She was really listening, taking everything in and keeping an eye on everyone.
Allison was drop-dead gorgeous, insanely talented, and had an effortless charm that made people admire her, but she was never aloof, always approachable.
During the conversation, Allison was open about her admiration for Brandon, but it was so genuine and straightforward that no one found it off-putting.
Everything she did felt so natural and straightforward.
Brianna managed to look perfectly calm and collected. Yet deep down, Brianna felt a cloud settle over her heart.
