Too Late For Regrets, Mr. Billionaire (Brianna Meyers and Brandon Levy) novel Chapter 145

Chapter 145 The Flynn Family’s Venue

Á socialite uploaded photos from the polo match to an overseas social media platform.

One of the shots happened to feature Brianna.

A slender, fair finger tapped on the photo, zoomed in again and again.

The nail was digging into the screen, eyes burning with fury, almost bloodshot.

The caption read: [Horizon Group is coming to Port City for a dinner party! So excited!]

Darcy stared at the words, tapped the like button, and a dark, sinister smile curled at her lips.

‘Long time no see, sis, she thought.

Here in Port City, Mrs. Buick nodded, and the other socialites chimed in. Just like that, the Horizon Group’s haute cou launch dinner was set.

Since Brianna rarely came to Port City, she was determined to settle every detail in one go-the venue, the date, the gu list, the media coverage… She was running around nonstop, barely having a moment to catch her breath.

Mrs. Buick, ever the gracious hostess, decided to go all out and personally showed them around the venues.

After touring several venues, Brianna still wasn’t satisfied. Some felt way too commercial, missing any warmth or personality, while others were so far out they felt a bit too rustic and remote for her style.

Seeing the faint crease between Brianna’s brows, Mrs. Buick flashed a knowing, mysterious smile. “I’m sure this last one v be just your style.”

The car eased up the slope, and the copper gates swung wide open, like rolling out an old film reel.

Centuries-old sycamores lined the drive, their branches weaving overhead, sunlight spilling through in golden flecks acro the windshield.

Rounding the corner, a milky-white stone building appeared-spires, arched windows, and carved roses with twining vine a mix of Gothic and Baroque.

“We’re here,” Mrs. Buick announced. “The old Valdorian embassy, built in 1908. It’s a century-old landmark under heritage protection.”

Brianna stepped out of the car and caught sight of the weathered Valdorian crest above the arched doorway-a double- headed eagle wrapped around a crown, rusted but still carrying that old-world pride.

“The hall used to be the ambassador’s ballroom, with ceilings soaring eight meters high. The crystal chandelier was hand- blown by a Veranthian workshop in the 1920s,” Mrs. Buick explained as they walked, her fingers gliding over the vintage hand-drawn maps lining the corridor walls.

Brianna reached out and touched the chilly stone wall, like she could almost trace the patterns on a diplomat’s sleeve from a hundred years back. She turned to Patsy and arched a brow.

“This is the one,” she said softly, her eyes lit up.

Patsy and Clair were just as pleased with the place.

Mrs. Buick smiled. “I knew you’d love it here.

“But,” Mrs. Buick said, pretending to be troubled, “this place is a members-only club. It’s unclear if they’ll even let us h commercial event.”

Disappointment flashed across Brianna’s eyes.

“Don’t stress yet. An old friend owns the place. Maybe he’ll help you out,” Mrs. Buick reassured her.

“Me?” Brianna looked puzzled. She honestly couldn’t recall anyone she knew having a business in Port City.

“It’s Kane’s club. I’m pretty sure he’ll cut you some slack,” Mrs. Buick said.

Brianna smiled, masking her surprise. “Seriously? That’s quite the coincidence.”

She turned to Patsy, who was grinning too, clearly skeptical that things could line up so perfectly.

“Kane and I go way back. If you don’t feel comfortable reaching out, I can talk to him for you,” Mrs. Buick said, thoughtf always.

“Thanks, Mrs. Buick. I’ll talk to him myself.” Brianna said.

Letting Mrs. Buick step in would only make Brianna look like she couldn’t handle things herself.

She called Kane and explained the situation. Kane’s voice had that unmistakable swagger of someone born with a silver

spoon.

“So you want something from me? Ms. Meyers, shouldn’t you show me you’re serious?” Kane teased.

Brianna smiled. “Of course. How about I treat you to dinner tonight? Will you grace me with your presence?”

“Been waiting for you to say that,” Kane joked, clearly flirting. Just the two of us!”

“That wouldn’t really work. I’m taken, you know. Gotta keep things above board,” Brianna joked, totally unfazed.

“Alright, just hang out at the club and try our signature dishes while you wait for me,” Kane said.

“Sounds good,” Brianna agreed.

Mrs. Buick, a regular at the club, took everyone out to the garden, ordered coffee for the group, and they settled in while waiting for Kane to show up.

He arrived not long after, sporting a striped polo and khaki pants, hands lazily tucked in his pockets, exuding a laid-back charm that was all his own, effortlessly cool and handsome.

Even though Brianna was supposed to be the host, Kane totally took over, like it was his show.

As soon as he sat down, Kane grabbed Mrs. Buick’s hand and gave it a quick kiss. “It’s only been a day, and somehow you look even prettier.”

Mrs. Buick burst out laughing. “Oh, stop it! These two young ladies are the real beauties. I’m practically turning into an old witch.

Kane put on his most dramatic, lovesick act, his eyes so syrupy with mock affection it was almost comical.

“I’ve known you, and I’ll never forget you. Back then, you were young, and everyone said you were beautiful. But now. Fin here to tell you. Compared to how you looked then, I adore your beauty now, after all life’s wear and tear, even more,” he said, laying it on thick.

Brianna mentally rolled her eyes. ‘If Duras saw this cheesy act, she’d probably set fire to The Lover herself, she sharked to herself

Kane kept that mischievous smirk on his face, joking around with the group like he owned the place.

“Hey Kane, can I borrow your fancy spot for a dinner party or what?” Brianna cut right to the chase. One more second of oily act and I’ll need sunglasses,’ she thought.

“Ms. Meyers, you must be too important to remember the little things,” Kane leaned in, his voice dropping to a low, teasi murmur, his tone rising at the end, playful as ever. “I already told you at the polo match-the haute couture dinner? I’ve

it covered.”

With that, he shot her a wink, his long lashes flickering in the light, like he was blowing her a not-so-subtle kiss.

Brianna couldn’t help but chuckle.

She finally realized why she had such a poor impression of Kane.

His carefree, playboy persona was carefully constructed, not something that came naturally to him.
