Chapter 44
Brandon’s assistant called him back.
“Mr. Levy, Mrs. Levy’s phone is currently at the A Hotel,” the assistant reported.
“Is she alone?” Brandon blurted out without thinking.
“I… I don’t know,” the assistant stammered, wondering if he’d heard Brandon wrong.

“Wait, Mr. Levy, it looks like Mrs. Levy just left the hotel. Her phone is on the move,” the assistant added.
Brandon’s expression darkened as he glanced at the time. It was already past eleven at night.
“Looks like she’s in a car. It’s moving pretty fast,” the assistant reported.
Brandon was seething with anger.
‘Clair again?’ Brandon thought, his jaw clenched.
“Get me the license plate number. Don’t hang up!” Brandon ordered, his voice icy.
Brandon’s voice was laced with cold fury.
The assistant shivered.
He quickly reached out to his contacts to track down the vehicle using the citywide surveillance system.
After a long while, the tech team managed to identify Brianna’s vehicle among the traffic using the surveillance system.
The assistant pulled up the footage from the citywide surveillance system, feeling puzzled.
“Mr. Levy, Mrs. Levy is in a van,” the assistant reported.
Brandon’s heart jolted. ‘She’s not with Clair?’ he thought, a surge of unease hitting him.
“Where is she?” Brandon demanded, his voice unsteady.
He felt a cold anxiety creeping up on him, making his hands clench.
“She’s on the ring road heading out of the city,” the assistant replied.
The assistant was starting to feel that something was definitely wrong.
Brandon’s heart was pounding. He didn’t even bother grabbing his coat before rushing out the door.
The van was going the opposite way from Brandon.
Inside the car, Brandon pressed his lips into a thin line, his presence cold and threatening. He didn’t need to

The driver caught a glimpse of Brandon in the rearview mirror and instinctively tightened his grip on th steering wheel, feeling a chill run down his spine.
“Follow that van,” Brandon ordered.
He rattled off the license plate and the van’s location to the driver.
To the driver, those few words felt like a life-or-death order.
The driver floored it, weaving through traffic with practiced skill.
Despite the winter chill, he broke out in a cold sweat from sheer nerves.
They’d been chasing the van for nearly two hours, and by now, they were well outside the city limits.
The road kept getting narrower, the area around them more and more remote, and Brandon’s anxiety jus kept building.
‘I’m scared,’ Brandon thought. ‘Why would she be taken to such a deserted place? What if she fear gnawed at him, growing stronger with every mile.
The hacker broke into Brianna’s phone and sent her live location straight to Brandon.
Following the live location, the driver finally stopped in front of an abandoned factory.
gets hurt?’ T
In the darkness of night, the factory was pitch black, except for a dim light flickering in a room on the secc floor, casting an eerie red glow.
As soon as Brandon got out of the car, he burst inside without a second thought.
They crept up the stairs, moving fast, guided by the eerie red glow until they found the room.
The people inside were caught off guard. They hadn’t expected anyone to follow, and the door was left wid
open.
As soon as Brandon hit the second floor, he caught the voice of some creepy, lecherous guy.
“Damn, this body’s unreal. Guess I hit the jackpot tonight,” the guy sneered.
He made some disgusting noises with his mouth, smacking his lips.
Brandon felt his blood boil. Rage took over, and he burst into the room like an arrow.
The room looked like someone had gone out of their way to set it up.
It didn’t feel abandoned at all, more like it belonged in a high-end mansion.
Brianna was lying on a leather-upholstered bed, with nothing on.
Chapter 44
A burly, dark-skinned man was straddling her waist, holding up a camera and taking pictures of her wit was completely exposed.
As someone entered, the guy froze, panic plastered all over his face.
He quickly jumped off the bed and snatched a machete from the cabinet at the foot of the bed
He snarled, “You bastard! How dare you ruin my good timer
Saying that, he raised the machete and charged forward.
Brandon was blinded by rage. He didn’t even register the machete in the guy’s hand, just threw himself with reckless abandon.
As the machete came down, Brandon sent a powerful kick straight into the guy’s chest
The guy let out a muffled groan, stumbling back several steps from the impact.
He steadied himself and charged at Brandon once more.
The bodyguards all rushed in, but with the guy brandishing a machete, they hesitated. No one dared to t him down right away.
Brandon dodged, jumped straight to the bed, and quickly wrapped Brianna in the bedsheet, shielding he from view.
The burly guy caught Brandon off guard, suddenly raising his machete and coming at him with the blade
“Watch out!” one of the bodyguards shouted.
Brandon turned, ready to dodge, but realizing Brianna was right behind him, he shielded her with his arm taking the hit himself.
Just in time, a bodyguard rushed in and kicked the burly guy, so the blade’s impact was lessened.
While the burly guy was still off balance, the bodyguards swarmed in, ready to move in and capture him alive.
Seeing he was outmatched, the burly guy quickly vaulted through the window and leapt down from the second floor.
Brandon rushed to the window just in time to see the burly guy pick himself up off the ground, cast a menacing look up at the people on the second floor, then limped hurriedly toward his car.
“After him!” Brandon barked.
The bodyguards charged downstairs in pursuit.
Only Brandon and the unconscious Brianna were left in the room.
Brandon looked around and noticed cameras at both the head and foot of the bed.

The lighting in the room was dim and strange. In a burst of anger, Brandon picked up a chair and sma
the cameras.
He grabbed the camera, checked the room for anything else left behind, then carried Brianna downsta his arms.
On the drive back to the city, the driver kept watching Brandon through the rearview mirror, unable to away,
Brandon held Brianna close, refusing to loosen his grip for even a moment.
The wound on his arm was still bleeding, blood trickling down nonstop.
The driver couldn’t take it anymore and finally spoke up.
“Mr. Levy, want me to patch you up?” he offered.
Only then did Brandon realize he was bleeding.
Brandon ripped off his tie, bit down on one end, and with one hand, managed to knot it above the woun cutting off the blood flow.
The driver floored it, racing them to the hospital at top speed.
By the time Brandon got patched up and made it back to the hospital room, the nurse had already dresse Brianna.
The doctor glanced at Brandon as he walked in and explained, “Someone drugged her. She’ll come aroun once the drugs wear off.”
Brandon nodded.
“Is the baby okay?” Brandon asked, his voice tight with worry.
“Her pulse and heart rate are normal. We’ll do a more thorough checkup once she wakes up tomorrow,” th doctor replied.
Brandon nodded and walked the doctor out of the room.
After nearly an entire night of chaos, Brandon’s nerves finally relaxed, leaving him utterly exhausted.
They were up in the hospital’s ultra-exclusive VIP suite. The place was quiet and spotless.
Brandon sat at Brianna’s bedside, watching her sleep. Her brows were tightly knit, and he thought, ‘She must’ve been scared out of her mind.’
Staring at her pale, perfect face, he reached out almost on instinct and gently brushed her cheek.
His face softened with tenderness.
Brandon softly ran his fingers over her face, and as if she could feel it, her brows tightened and she let out a
