Too Late For Regrets, Mr. Billionaire (Brianna Meyers and Brandon Levy) novel Chapter 63

Chapter 63 From Ordinary to Legend

Chapter 63 From Ordinary to Legend

At the dinner table, Blanca had laid out a feast.

Whitney was all smiles, its face practically glowing with happiness.

He gestured for Brandon to take a seat.

“Come to think of it, this is Brandon’s first time having dinner at our place,” Whitney said.

Brandon gave a modest smile.

He didn’t say anything.

Brianna looked over all the food on the table.

She smiled softly. “Hold on. What happened to the stuff we brought?”

Whitney was puzzled.

Brianna turned around and brought over two takeout bags.

She opened them up.

One after another, she pulled out several dishes.

Blanca looked a bit awkward and said, “Brianna, why did you bring food? You really didn’t have to. If you have any dietary restrictions, or if you need something special for your health, just tell me, I will take care of it.”

Brianna didn’t even look at her.

She just gave a faint smile.

She shot Whitney a teasing look. “Every New Year’s, Mom would have Cloud Restaurant handle the food. Mom and I both loved that savory bass. Don’t you remember?”

Suddenly, Blanca and Whitney were visibly embarrassed.

Blanca’s smile was more of a smirk than anything.

“Wait, so your mom never cooked for New Year’s?” Blanca asked

Brianna smiled faintly. “Like she ever had time for that. Mom was always tied up with Unity Group stuff. Seriously, when would she ever have time for chores? Not like you, who just has to butter up Dad.

“Just keep buttering up Dad, and you’ll make it someday.”

Blanca’s face flushed red.

She wanted to snap back, but held herself back.

Darcy shot Brianna a look that could cut glass.

‘Looks like this bitch still hasn’t learned her lesson, Darcy thought.

Whitney jumped in to break the tension.

“Brianna, it’s rare for us all to sit down and share a meal as a family,” Whitney said. “Let’s not dwell on the past, alright?” Brianna smiled. “Wow, look at this spread. I’ve heard you telling everyone out there… If you want to keep a guy, you gotta win his heart through his stomach. So, what’s your specialty?”

With that, Brianna looked Blanca straight in the eye.

Blanca looked like she was swallowing her pride, trying to keep the peace.

“I know I’ve let you and your mom down,” Blanca said. “But your dad and I truly love each other. And when you love someone, you just do. I have no regrets.”

Brianna gave a cold, mocking laugh.

“Wow, that’s gotta be the boldest homewrecker line I’ve ever heard,” she said.

She didn’t even bother to hide her sarcasm.

The atmosphere at the table instantly froze.

Darcy’s eyes were brimming with tears.

Successfully unlocked!

“Brianna, we’re to blame. Can you please stop stiming inmys up: Daily pleaded.

Brandon’s brows furrowed in concern.

He stood up and gently supported Brianna.

Why don’t we just go home?” he suggested softly.

Brianna jerked her hand away from Brandon, refusing his help.

She pressed on, not letting for a second. “That day, you said it yourself. You admitted you were the reason my mom died. Is that true?”

Blanca looked like she was both hurt and angry.

She seemed completely cornered, unable to defend herself.

“What are you even talking about?” Blanca shot back

Brianna watched Blanca put on her performance, her gaze steady and cold.

She let out a cold, mocking laugh.

Then she questioned Whitney directly. “Darcy wasn’t always called Darcy, was she? What was her original name?”

“Let me think…” Brianna said.

She played it up, acting like she was really digging through her memory.

Darcy’s face turned pale as a sheet in an instant.

‘Is she really here to confront me?’ Darcy thought.

Her panicked gaze flickered over to Brandon, desperate for some support.

Whitney was shocked, his heart pounding in his chest.

‘How does she even know about this?’ he thought.

He quickly tried to smooth things over.

“Brianna, I know I’ve let you down in the past,” Whitney said. “I promise, I’ll make it up to you from now on. You have no idea how worried I was this time…”

Just as Whitney was about

to

put on his heartfelt act, Brianna cut him off, not giving him a chance to finish.

“Oh, I remember now. She should be called Brianne Meyers,” Brianna said.

Darcy’s face went ghostly pale.

She looked like she might pass out from fear.

‘She really does remember,’ Darcy thought.

Whitney went pale too.

He cast a nervous glance at Brandon, worried his son-in-law might be upset. Brandon just sat there, listening and watching, his face giving nothing away.

He was like a statue-impossible to read.

Blanca watched as Darcy looked like she was about to fall apart

Blanca pretty much figured it out.

‘Darcy must’ve spilled something to this bitch,’ Blanca thought.

She immediately tried to play it off.

Γ

“Yes, Brianna,” Blanca said. “Your dad did give her that name at first. But we realized pretty quickly it wasn’t quite right, so we just changed it. If you still mind it, Auntie will apologize again.”

Brianna gave a radiant, confident smile.

Her gaze was steady and resolute.

“Is that so?” Brianna replied. “Funny, that’s not what I’ve been told.”

She glanced at Darcy with a mocking, playful look.

Briarina kept playing cat and mouse with them, drawing out the tension.

Darcy felt a lump in her throat.

She couldn’t get a single word out.

Whitney deliberately put on a stern face, acting all serious.

He was clearly pretending, trying to look strict.

“Brianna! It you’re upset, Dad con apologize to you,” Whitney said, his tone stiff. “But if you’re just here to vent, Then you’re net welcome here!”

Normally, Whitney would’ve gone off on Brianna without a second thought.

But with Brandon right there, he had to restrain himself.

Brianna couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

It was as if she’d just heard the most ridiculous thing ever.

She said, “Not welcome? Did you forget? This is my home. My mom bought it. The deed’s got my name on it. I could throw you all out anytime I feel like it.”

Whitney’s face turned beet red.

He wanted to snap back, but held it in.

“Mom’s been gone for less than a hundred days,” Brianna said. “And you’re already busy bringing your mistress and her daughter back. Living in Mom’s house, sleeping in Mom’s bed. You guys really have no shame, do you?”

Darcy noticed Brianna still hadn’t mentioned the whole falling-off-the-cliff thing.

She tentatively spoke up. “Kendra’s right here. Can you please stop making a scene?”

Kendra was already annoyed with her mom, Blanca, for stirring things up.

The vibe had been totally fine just moments ago.

She couldn’t understand why her mom had to make everyone so uncomfortable.

She’d never seen her dad act this serious before.

She’d wanted to snap at her mom a few times, but managed to hold it in.

Brianna cut in.

Kendra quickly jumped in.

“Yeah, Mom, can we just enjoy dinner and keep things pleasant?” Kendra said.

Brianna looked at Darcy with a gentle smile in her eyes.

“Kids are so adorable. Ever thought about having one yourself?” Brianna said with a light smile.

In that moment, all of Darcy’s fake humility and attempts to please disappeared without a trace.

She was left with nothing but fear.

Brianna just watched, calm and collected.

‘Scared already?’ she thought. ‘Worried I’ll spill everything? And here I thought they were so bold inviting me over. Guess they’re just a bunch of nasty paper tigers after all.’
