After dropping Brianna off at her office, Brandon told the driver to head to the Pratt Group.

The moment Brandon stepped into the building, he bumped right into Jerod, the CEO of the Pratt Group and Tristan’s father.

Jerod and Brandon’s father had been old friends, and now that the Levy Group was stronger than ever, Jerod was always eager to see Brandon.

Spotting Brandon, Jerod’s face lit up with a warm smile as he walked over to greet him.

“Mr. Levy, what brings you here today?” Jerod asked.

Brandon gave a polite, slight nod as he shook Jerod’s hand.

“Mr. Pratt, it’s been a while. How do you do?” Brandon asked.

As they chatted, Jerod’s mind was racing.

‘There haven’t been any business dealings between the two companies lately.

‘Even if there were, Brandon wouldn’t need to show up in person,’ Jerod thought.

He figured Brandon must be here for his good-for-nothing son, Tristan.

A sense of unease crept over Jerod.

‘If it were just a friendly visit, Brandon wouldn’t be at the office so early in the morning,’ Jerod figured.

‘What kind of trouble has Tristan gotten himself into this time?’ Jerod wondered.

But he kept his polite smile on.

“Mr. Levy, please, come upstairs. I just got some really good tea. I’d love for you to try it,” Jerod said.

He gestured for Brandon to follow him upstairs.

He gave his assistant a meaningful look.

The assistant hurried off to the side and quickly dialed Tristan’s number.

“Hey, Mr. Tristan, Mr. Levy from the Levy Group is here at the office. Your father wants you to come over right away,” the assistant said.

“What’s he doing here?” Tristan’s voice shot up an octave.

The assistant smiled politely.

“No idea, honestly,” the assistant replied.

“Alright, I’m already on my way,” Tristan said.

Tristan hung up the phone.

He frowned, his brow furrowing.

Brianna had mentioned last time that Brandon might step in to help Darcy.

‘Is he here to mess up my plan?’ Tristan wondered.

‘Doesn’t matter,’ he thought.

‘Whoever it is, I’ll help her, even if it means risking everything.

Jerod led Brandon into his office.

He didn’t ask about Brandon’s purpose for visiting.

Brandon didn’t bring it up either.

They made small talk about coffee and painting, keeping things light and casual.

But beneath the surface, both were sly as foxes, each pretending to be friendly while quietly sizing the other

More than half an hour later, the office door swung open.

Tristan stood in the doorway, his expression stormy.

His hands were shoved deep into his pockets.

“Mr. Big Shot Levy, what brings you here?” Tristan asked, his voice edged with mockery.

Brandon turned around.

When he saw it was Tristan, he gave a polite nod.

Then he courteously shook Jerod’s hand, taking his leave.

“Mr. Pratt, I’ll drop by again next time. I’ve got something to discuss with Tristan,” Brandon said.

Jerod saw Brandon out to the office door.

At the same time, he shot Tristan a disapproving look.

“You never act properly. You should really learn from Brandon!” Jerod scolded.

At this, Brandon just gave a graceful, modest smile.

“Tristan is actually quite outstanding,” he said.

Tristan was sick of all those empty pleasantries.

He turned and led Brandon to his own office.

Brandon took his time before saying anything.

He slowly surveyed Tristan’s office, taking in the furnishings and atmosphere.

Tristan frowned, making no effort to offer Brandon a seat or pour him any water.

“So, what could be important enough for the mighty Mr. Levy to pay me a visit?” Tristan said, his voice dripping with sarcasm and challenge.

His tone oozed contempt and provocation.

But Brandon wasn’t fazed at all.

He made himself comfortable on the couch.

He crossed his legs and spoke in a lazy, almost casual tone, “I’m here for one thing. Tell your woman to behave herself. If it happens again, I won’t go easy on her, or you.”

Tristan’s eyes flickered, betraying a hint of unease.

“I don’t know what you mean,” Tristan replied, pretending not to know.

Brandon flashed a slight smile, interlacing his fingers in front of his chest.

“Your girl caused trouble for Brianna yesterday,” Brandon said.

As he spoke, he stood up, his tone steady, but there was an unmistakable sense of authority.

“If she steps out of line again, I won’t mind tearing things apart,” Brandon added.

His eyes sliced through Tristan.

“We both know you can’t afford to lose,” Brandon said.

At this, the smirk on Tristan’s face slowly faded, replaced by a flicker of unease.

The air in the room seemed to freeze.

“What did you say? She bothered Brianna again?” Tristan blurted out, his voice sharp with surprise.

Brandon got up and strode over to Tristan.

He gave Tristan a cold, sidelong look.

“Mr. Tristan, you dare to mess with my family? If it were anyone else, I’d have already made them pay,” Brandon said, his voice icy and threatening.

With that, he walked straight out.

Tristan’s brows knitted in surprise. He hadn’t expected this at all.

‘Did he just say she threw water at Brianna?’ Tristan thought, stunned.

‘Brandon isn’t the only one who won’t let this slide. I won’t either, Tristan vowed.

He felt a headache coming on.

‘Why is this woman clingy as a leech?’ Tristan grumbled to himself.

He turned to leave.

But Jerod’s assistant was keeping a close eye on the situation.

When the assistant saw Brandon leave, he quickly stepped in front of Tristan.

“Mr. Tristan, Mr. Jerod wants to see you,” the assistant said.

Tristan trudged reluctantly into his father’s office, every step screaming how much he didn’t want to be there.

Jerod sat behind his desk, his expression strict and commanding.

“What did Brandon want with you?” Jerod demanded.

He knew right away it couldn’t be anything good.

“Nothing,” Tristan said dismissively, barely glancing at his father.

He was just eager to get out of there, barely listening and wanting to brush his father off as quickly as possible.

Jerod was getting annoyed by how absent-minded Tristan was.

“Nothing? Really? He shows up at the crack of dawn just for nothing? You still won’t fess up? Are you just waiting to get your old man into big trouble before you finally learn?” Jeord barked.

Tristan rolled his eyes at his father.

“This is all your fault,” Tristan grumbled.

“Me? How is this my fault?” Jerod shot back, clearly annoyed.

“You kept insisting I get together with Nancy, even though I told you I wanted nothing to do with her. Now look, she went and messed with Brandon’s wife, and he’s here raising hell, and somehow I’m the one getting blamed?” Tristan retorted, his frustration obvious.

Tristan felt totally screwed over and frustrated. ‘How the hell am I supposed to explain this to Brianna?’ he thought, anxiety creeping in.

Jerod’s temper shot through the roof when he heard Tristan’s words.

“Don’t give me that bullshit! Did I force you to be with her? Did I make you sleep with her? I’m teaching you to be a man and take responsibility!” Jerod barked.

“Who even knows who slept with whom? I was so drunk, for all I know, she climbed into my bed herself,” Tristan fired back.

Before Tristan could finish, Jerod marched over and slapped him hard across the face, then was about to kick him.

The assistant quickly stepped in to stop him.

“Mr. Jerod, please, calm down,” the assistant said, trying to calm him down.

The assistant gave Tristan a look, telling him to make himself scarce.

Tristan, still stinging from the slap and pissed off, was itching to go find Brianna. He was halfway out the door when his father’s booming voice cut him off.

“Stop right there!” Jerod barked.

Tristan grudgingly turned back, wondering what his old man wanted now.

“I’ll pick a date. Next month, you’re getting engaged to Nancy,” Jerod said, his tone leaving no room for argument.

“No! I don’t like her!” Tristan shouted, his voice full of defiance.

Tristan was usually all jokes and never took his father’s words seriously, letting them go in one ear and out the other.

But this time, he stood his ground and refused to back down.

“Like her or not, since you got involved with her, you have to marry her,” Jerod said, his voice firm and uncompromising.

“I told you, I’m not marrying her!” Tristan shouted back, standing firm and glaring at his father.

“You bastard! I don’t think I see right through you. You really think I don’t know why Nancy went after Brianna? Don’t kid yourself. This time, you don’t get a choice. You so much as defy me, I’ll break your damn legs!” Jerod thundered, veins popping on his forehead.

He was so pissed off that the veins on his forehead looked like they were about to burst.

Tristan froze, his father totally calling him out and seeing right through him.

Annoyed, he turned and walked out.

As he drove off, stuck at a red light, all that crap was still swirling in his head. Frustrated, he pounded the steering wheel a few times.

He headed straight for Brianna’s office building.

Tristan pushed the door open, looking worried sick, and saw Clair and Patsy talking with Brianna about something.

Brianna glanced up, and as soon as their eyes met, there was a hint of awkwardness in her gaze.

Tristan had so much he wanted to say, but for now, he just stood there quietly, waiting for his chance.

Tristan had just settled onto the couch when Patsy suddenly exclaimed, her voice laced with playful teasing.

“Whoa, what happened to your face? Who hit you?” Patsy joked.
