Transmigrated to Raise Panther Cubs novel Chapter 36

Chapter 36 Did You Win?

Zachary broke off several slender branches, stripped away their bark, rinsed them thoroughly, and dipped theto into the syrup just before it hardened.

Once set, they resembled lollipops-perhaps even better than modern ones-completely natural with nothing artificial addeth. A rich, fruity sweetness spread through the cave, biending with the comforting aroma of warm candy.

After finishing, Zachary pulled out a few pieces of beast-hide from the cave. Jaden’s clothes had become tight and uncomfortable, so Zachary sat outside under the sunlight, carefully planning and crafting a new outfit for the cub.

One reddish piece looked like fox fur. Holding a bit of charcoal, Zachary sketched a design across it, imagining it as a fine coat. With Jaden’s fair complexion, it would suit him perfectly.

The gray-white hide seemed ideal for making trousers. If any material remained, he could even fashion scarf.

As evening approached, the temperature outside began to drop. Zachary lit a fire inside the cave and sat beside it, continuing to sew Jaden’s coat.

Since the cub was small, Zachary used the remaining red fur to make a tiny hat. He even stitched two little ears onto it and attached it to the coat, making it irresistibly cute.

Not long afterward, the sound of footsteps echoed from outside. Zachary went to open the door and was startled by what he saw.

Taylor and Jaden looked completely disheveled, their hair tangled with bits of grass, their small faces streaked with dirt.

Jaden appeared worse off. His arms and legs were covered in scrapes, bruises shaded in blue and purple, and red marks trailed across his neck.

Zachary immediately set his work aside and hurried over. “What happened to you two?”

“It’s nothing, really.” Taylor waved it off, his attention already caught by the wooden structure near the cave entrance. “What’s this, Zachary?”

“It’s a door.” Zachary demonstrated how it worked, then asked again, “Now tell me what happened?”

Ethan, who had entered behind them, explained, “Jaden and Taylor got into a fight with a couple of other cubs from the tribe.”

“Caesar and Logan started it!” Taylor burst out angrily. “They stole Jaden’s prey and even insulted him!”

Taylor had never been one to stay quiet, especially when Jaden was targeted. He immediately rolled up his sleeves and threw himself into the fight.

Jaden hadn’t planned to get involved at first, but the moment he saw Taylor fighting, he dropped everything and rushed in to back him up.

Although Caesar and Logan were bigger and sturdier, Taylor had learned clever fighting techniques from

Yael, while Jaden had trained with Matthew since he was young. Neither of them fell behind.

They were still fighting fiercely when Ethan and Asher, who were on patrol, came across them. The two quickly separated the cubs and brought them home.

Zachary examined Jaden carefully. Seeing that the injuries were only superficial. he finally relaxed. Then he crouched slightly and asked softly, “So did you win?”

Jaden blinked, caught off guard by the question.

“Of course we did! Jaden was incredible!” Taylor lifted his chin proudly. “We beat them until they were crying out!”

Zachary chuckled and ruffled both their hair. “Go wash your faces and hands.”

Ethan placed the long-eared beast the cubs had caught near the fire. “They handled things well. Today was clearly Caesar and Logan’s fault.”

“Thanks for bringing them back.” Remembering that Ethan was Elias’ younger brother, Zachary wrapped some apple and wild berry jelly along with honey candy in leaves and handed them to him.

Ethan stared at the clear red treats, curiosity written all over his face. He leaned closer and caught their sweet, fruity scent.

He picked one up, took a bite, and his eyes widened instantly. “Zachary, what is this?

“It tastes amazing-sweet with a hint of tartness.”

Zachary smiled. “It’s made from sour fruit, wild berries, and food from a stingtail beast. Take some back and share it with Elias.”

“Thanks, Zachary.” Though tempted to eat more, Ethan held back, deciding to save such a treat for Elias and

the others.

The cubs had already noticed the scent earlier. As soon as they finished washing, they rushed over to Zachary.

Taylor’s eyes sparkled. “It looks so nice!”

Jaden, still feeling guilty about the fight, stood quietly to one side.

Zachary handed each of them a piece.

Taylor took a bite, and his eyes widened dramatically. “Woah! This is so good!”

It was sweet yet tangy, soft and chewy-each bite made him crave more.

Cubs had always loved sugary treats, especially something this irresistible. Even Jaden found himself licking his lips as he glanced at the remaining apple and berry sweets.

“This is called candy.” Zachary picked up two honey lollipops from the leaves and handed one to each of

them.

The cubs treated them like precious treasures, turning them over in their hands before finally tasting them.

They licked them slowly, savoring every bit, their eyes shining with delight.

Overjoyed, Taylor leaned against Zachary, wrapping his arms around him and murmuring. “Zachary, how are you this amazing?”

Jaden wasn’t as openly affectionate, but he still drifted closer instinctively, staying near his father.

Smiling, Zachary pulled both eubs into a gentle embrace. “You two did great too. You even managed to catch a long-eared beast.”

Taylor giggled. “Caesar and Logan got kicked by it a few times too!”

Zachary patted their backs softly. “What happened today wasn’t your fault. You stood up for yourselves+ and that was the right thing to do.”
