Transmigrated to Raise Panther Cubs novel Chapter 41

Chapter 41 One Meal Wins the Whole Tribe

The therians who came to help had already eaten breakfast. Their next meal wouldn’t be until the evening.

Zachary blinked at Matthew. “I snuck some food while I was cooking.”

Matthew replied, “You don’t have to sneak it.”

Zachary laughed at his serious tone. “Let’s go. We’ll rest for a bit before getting back to work.”

Matthew was tall and strong, yet Zachary still pulled him outside with ease.

Zachary brought out two big bowls filled with fried jerky and crispy bits left from rendering fat. “Everyone, have some food first.”

The therians were thrilled. They grabbed the food and ate it bite after bite. The more they chewed, the better it tasted. They gathered around Matthew and started talking all at once.

“Matthew, Zachary’s cooking is so good!”

“Yeah, yeah, I never noticed before!”

“Matthew, do you eat this stuff every day?”

Yael, who was closest to Matthew, laughed. He threw an arm over Matthew’s shoulder and leaned in. “Of course. You have no idea how good the food Matthew eats usually is!”

The rich smell of meat filled the air. Everyone looked shocked. “There’s food that tastes even better?”

“Of course!” Ethan couldn’t help but speak up. “Yesterday, I walked Jaden home, and Zachary gave me some food. It tasted amazing! It was sweet and sour with a fruity smell. After eating it, I felt hungrier!”

Yael looked like he knew everything. “That’s called apple wild berry cake.

“Have you tried tomato scrambled eggs?

“Have you had mushroom meat soup?

“What about omelets?

“And stir-fried meat with wild scallions…”

Yael listed dish after dish. As he spoke, he licked his lips. “You don’t even know how good they taste!”

Except for Matthew, the other therians were completely shocked. They didn’t care about the strange names. All they could think about was how good the food must be.

Matthew pushed Yael away. “Act normal.”

Before he could say anything else, Kyle and the others crowded around him. “Matthew, is what Yael said true?”

Matthew casually answered, “Yeah.” Then he added, “Zachary is very smart.”

Chapter 41 One Meal Wins the Whole Tribe

By evening, the therians finally got to eat the food they had been thinking about all day.

It wasn’t an exaggeration. The entire area around the cave was filled with the strong smell of food.

The therians didn’t care about anything else. They sat on the ground in a circle and focused or eating. No one even had time to chat.

The pan-fried mushroom meat smelled amazing. The roasted meat chunks were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The stir-fried pork belly with wild scallions had a unique flavor.

The most tempting dish was the meatballs bubbling in the pot. They were served with wild greens and chopped scallions. One bite made the therians gasp in surprise. Even drinking one or two bowls of the soup didn’t feel like enough.

At that moment, Elias felt like Zachary was glowing with bright light.

He couldn’t hold back. He rushed over and hugged Zachary. “Zachary, you’re amazing! From now on, you’re my boss!”

Quincy joked, “You’re already won over by just one meal?”

Elias nodded like crazy. “Zachary, if you ever need anything, just call me. I’ll be ready anytime!”

Zachary smiled, his eyes full of warmth. “Alright.”

After eating, the therians worked even harder. The sound of tools clanging rang out one after another, getting louder each time.

When night fell, they finally put down their tools. Zachary packed a bundle of crispy fat bits and jerky for each of them to take home to their families.

The therians were so touched that they completely forgot what Zachary had done before. They even stopped feeling bad for Matthew. They secretly thought Matthew was really lucky.

Before leaving, they kept reminding Zachary that they would come again tomorrow. They told him not to forget.

The cubs were even more reluctant to leave. They surrounded Zachary and rushed to say they wanted to come help again tomorrow.

Zachary smiled and agreed to each of them.

The cave slowly became quiet. Matthew and Yael stayed behind. They cleaned the cave under the firelight.

Zachary took out two lollipops and gave them to Jaden and Taylor. “You worked hard today.”

Quincy teased, “Zachary, Taylor doesn’t want to leave your place anymore.”

Taylor looked up with wide eyes. “Can I stay? I want to sleep with Jaden!”

Yael joked, “Then you might as well call Zachary and Matthew your parents from now on.”

Taylor glanced at his own father. Then he really turned to Matthew and shouted, “Sire!”

Yael rolled up his sleeves and pretended to scare him. “Hey, you little brat!”

Taylor quickly hid behind Quincy. He made a face at Yael. “You told me to say it.”

Then he hugged Jaden’s arm. “From now on, I’m your big brother!”

Quincy pinched his cheek. “Jaden is older than you. If anything, he’s the big brother.”

“No.” Taylor held onto Jaden tightly. “I’m the big brother.”

Everyone laughed at his stubborn attitude.

Quincy said, “You didn’t even ask Jaden if he agrees.”

Taylor smiled eagerly at him. “Jaden, do you want me as your big brother?”

Jaden replied calmly, “If you’re the younger one, you’ll get more good food.”

Taylor froze for a second. Then he quickly changed his mind. “I’ll be the younger brother. I can still protec you!”

In just one night, almost the entire tribe heard about the delicious food Zachary made.

The next morning, as soon as the sun started to rise, the therians came to help again. There were twice as many as the day before.
