Trapped by Seven Mafia Wolves novel Chapter 19

**Chapter 19**

**On The Verge**

**Leon’s POV**

The party unfolded around me like a chaotic tapestry woven from threads of noise and insincerity. The air was thick with laughter that felt more like a facade than genuine joy. The girls, dressed to the nines, were vying for my attention, their efforts bordering on desperate. It was exhausting to watch, their bright smiles contrasting sharply with the hollowness of our interactions. The music blared, drowning out any semblance of meaningful conversation, and I found myself adrift in a sea of shallow exchanges.

I was utterly over it.

With a sense of resignation, I decided to make my exit. I chose the long way home, hoping that the winding path would grant me a moment of tranquility, a chance to escape the relentless buzz of the party.

As I approached the grand gates of the mansion, something unusual caught my eye—a small, crumpled figure leaning against the heavy front door. My first instinct was to dismiss it as just another drunken soul who had lost their way, but as I ventured closer, a wave of dread washed over me.

It was Aurora.

What in the world was she doing out here?

Her body lay limp, pale as the winter moon, shivering as if the chill of the night had seeped into her very bones. My heart sank further as I took in her frail frame; it was painfully clear that she was on the brink—her malnourished body barely clinging to existence.

“Damn it,” I muttered under my breath, a mixture of anger and concern swirling inside me. I fished my phone out of my pocket, my fingers trembling slightly as I dialed Matteo’s number.

“Matteo,” I spoke, my tone grim and urgent. “You need to get over here. Aurora’s outside. She’s passed out, and I think she’s hypothermic.”

The words felt heavy, laden with a sense of responsibility that I loathed to acknowledge. Yet, in this moment, as much as I resented the feeling, I knew she needed help—fast. I couldn’t just leave her there, not like this.
