**Milk Explosion (Part 2)**
**Aurora’s POV**
Jace’s hand rests reassuringly on my back, a solid anchor in the whirlwind of my emotions, while his other hand playfully presses against my nose, his sleeve acting as a makeshift comfort blanket.
With a nasally protest, I mumble, “I’m fine.”
His grin is infectious, bright enough to illuminate even the gloomiest corners of the kitchen. “No way. You just snorted unicorn milk, Aurora. That’s not exactly something you can just brush off.”
I shoot him a half-hearted glare, hastily wiping my nose with the back of my hand, feeling the lingering embarrassment. “I was just surprised.”
“Surprised? By what? Nico looking like he just crawled out of a zombie apocalypse? That’s pretty much his everyday vibe,” he teases, his eyes dancing with mischief, and I can’t help but chuckle despite myself.
But just then, the atmosphere shifts dramatically as Nico storms into the kitchen, his presence like a thundercloud rolling in. The air crackles with his barely contained frustration, and I can almost feel the heat radiating off him. His icy gaze darts between Jace and me, narrowed and suspicious, as if he’s trying to unravel some secret conspiracy.
“What the hell is going on here?” he demands, his voice low and laced with a dangerous edge. Jace, unfazed, simply shrugs, pouring himself another bowl of cereal with the casualness of someone who has no cares in the world.
“Breakfast. You know, that delightful meal people indulge in when they aren’t sulking in dark corners,” Jace replies, a smirk tugging at his lips, clearly enjoying the dynamic.
“I don’t brood!” I interject, my voice rising slightly in protest, desperate to defend my honor.
“You do.”
“Do not.”
“You’re literally brooding right now,” he counters, his tone playful yet oddly affectionate, and I can feel the heat creeping up my cheeks.
Nico, sensing my embarrassment, whips his head around to glare at me, his eyes burning with a silent fury that makes me shrink back in my seat, my heart racing.
Nico scoffs, the sound sharp and bitter, slicing through the already tense atmosphere. “Right. So we feed her one bowl of cereal, and suddenly she’s part of the family.”
“She eats?” Jace interjects, feigning shock, and I can’t help but roll my eyes. “God forbid.”
