Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 250

Madeline set her glass on the table, the sound echoing in the room.

With Lucy gone, Helene dropped her act. “Madeline, if you think you’re getting any of Julian’s money, you’re just dreaming. I’m not letting that happen.”

A billion dollars wasn’t pocket change. Helene wasn’t about to let Madeline walk away with it.

Madeline let out a cold laugh. “Since when do I need your permission?”

“When couples divorce, the settlement is between them. Since when does the mistress get a say?”

“You— Madeline, call me that again and see what happens.”

“Mistress. Mistress. Mistress. There, I said it. You were one, but now you can’t handle hearing the word?”

Why not give them a taste of their own medicine? If they wanted to make her miserable, she wasn’t going to let them walk away happy either.

“You bitch!” Helene snapped, swinging her hand at Madeline’s face.

Madeline’s eyes flashed. She grabbed the nearest water glass and hurled it at Helene.

The glass hit Helene’s fingers dead-on.

Helene cried out, clutching her hand in pain.

The glass fell to the floor and shattered, pieces scattering everywhere.

Madeline sat back in her chair, calm as ever, grabbed another glass, filled it, and took a slow sip. “Want to get hit again? Keep trying then.”

“Helene, are you okay?” Courtney rushed over, worry all over her face.

Helene’s pain twisted her features. “Madeline, do you really think you can parade around just because Julian’s looking at you these days?”

“Don’t get ahead of yourself. Julian will come back to me. Just wait!”

Madeline stood, water glass in hand, and walked right up to Helene. She was taller, and it showed.

Helene’s face darkened, her confidence faltering.

Madeline watched them leave, her face turning icy cold.

At the elevator, Helene grew more furious the more she thought about it. She stomped her foot. “She only dares act like this because Julian’s on her side. That bitch!”

“As long as Madeline’s around, you and Julian will never be together,” Courtney said, her eyes hard.

“I know. But for some reason, nothing ever sticks to her. We haven’t been able to do a thing.”

“We’ll see about that. I don’t think she doesn’t have a weak spot. Give it some time. Leave Madeline to me.”

Helene pressed her lips together, then slipped her arm through Courtney’s. “You’re the best, Mom.”

“Don’t just stand around. Go to Grayson Enterprises later. We still need to figure out that partnership.”

“Got it. I’ll go right away.”

At Grayson Enterprises, inside the huge conference room, the tension was almost suffocating.
