Julian’s face darkened, his eyes fixed on Madeline. His voice was cold. “I paid for it.”

Madeline didn’t know what to say.

Miles quickly stuffed her card into Julian’s hand and stepped aside, eager to explain. “Mr. Grayson picked out the clothes himself.”

Madeline was stunned.

Julian kept staring at her, like he was waiting for her to say something.

Julian kept watching her, not satisfied in the least. His gaze was still icy.

The doctor was stunned. “Oh?”
