Xanthe had dialed the distress call in a desperate race against time before she nearly passed out.

This morning, she had prepared breakfast for Amber just like usual. Because Amber had the Exam today, breakfast was pushed back an hour. Xanthe used that extra hour to prep the boxed lunches by herself.

She had just carried all the prepared ingredients down and loaded them into her delivery cart when a furious roar hit her out of nowhere. "Xanthe, you worthless tramp!"

With a vicious slap, Damien, whose hands were calloused from years of hard labor, knocked Xanthe to the ground, leaving her nose and mouth bleeding.

Seeing the blood didn't stop him; Damien stepped forward and kicked her. "You've completely disgraced the Sutton family! You jinx, you disaster! If you can't have kids, you should have just stayed obediently at home. Did the Sutton family ever starve you? To think you'd actually steal another woman's man and ruin someone's family just to deceive us!"

"Have you forgotten our family rules? You jinx, I should just beat you to death. You're an absolute embarrassment!"

Xanthe couldn't fight back. As soon as she tried to stand, Damien kicked her flying again. Her frail body was knocked around like a ragdoll under his relentless punches and kicks.

"What are you doing? Who do you think you are? I'm calling the cops if you don't stop!" a passing neighbor shouted in shock.

Xanthe's face was covered in blood, her ears ringing violently.

Damien shoved the neighbor away. "Get lost! I'm teaching my sister a lesson. It's none of your business. Keep pushing and I'll beat you too."

The neighbor staggered back. "Can't you be reasonable? I'm seriously calling the cops."

"Cops can't do anything! This is family business. Xanthe, you've really grown a pair. Being barren was already a massive disgrace to the Sutton family, but now you're stealing men and destroying families?"

"I'm going to beat you to death today!"

Damien swung his fists again. The neighbor tried to block him, screaming at the top of his lungs, "Arthur! Get down here right now! Your woman is getting beaten up! Arthur!!!"

Arthur was resting on his recliner, deep in thought about his situation with Grace, when he heard the neighbor's frantic shouts. He bolted up and leaned out the window.

"Screw off! This is the Sutton family's private business. Get out of my way!"

"Arthur, somebody help! Someone call the police, he's going to kill her!"

Arthur was horrified. Damien shoved the neighbor aside and marched toward Xanthe, who was completely immobilized on the ground. "You embarrassing piece of trash, you're coming back to the Sutton family with me. Haven't you humiliated us enough?"

Damien grabbed her by the hair, dragging her along the ground like an animal.

Arthur rushed downstairs and roared, "Who the hell are you? Let her go!"

Damien assumed Arthur was just another nosy bystander. He dropped Xanthe, grabbed Arthur by the collar, and raised a fist threateningly. "Another busybody? I'm disciplining my sister. What does it have to do with you? Do you want a beating too?"

Arthur was stunned. "Your sister?"
