Amber arrived in the alley on a motorcycle, only to see her father pinned to the ground and being pummeled by Damien.

Xanthe sat off to the side, her face covered in blood, trying to tell her brother to stop, but she could barely make a sound.

A few neighbors were trying to pull them apart, getting bruised in the process.

Furious, Amber grabbed a nearby wooden stick and yelled, "Carter, Wallace, step aside. Let me handle this."

Before Carter and Wallace could even register her arrival, Amber swung the stick hard right into Damien's back.

"Let go of my dad, you bastard!"

Amber put every ounce of her strength into the blow. Even though Damien had a thick skin, her strike was enough to make him wince. And Amber didn't just swing once—she struck him at least five more times.

Xanthe had done hard labor for years, but a woman's strength naturally couldn't compare to a man's. Sitting paralyzed on the ground, covered in blood, it was clear she had been beaten severely.

Although her father fought back, he was only trying to defend himself. He wasn't a fighter, and he certainly couldn't match Damien, who was clearly used to dealing out violence.

The stick in Amber's hands finally snapped. Damien let out a pig-like squeal. Fearing Damien might attack Amber next, Carter and Wallace rushed to shield her, shouting, "We've already called the cops! If you don't want to go to jail, get out of here!"

Damien was used to this. During Xanthe's fifteen years with the Sutton family, the cops were called every time she was beaten, but it always ended in 'mediation,' which only fueled his audacity.

"I already told you, the cops won't do anything. This is a family matter. Xanthe, are you going to let these people beat up your own brother?"

Xanthe's eyes were brimming with tears. Before she could speak, Amber spat, "You almost beat her to death, and you still call yourself her brother?"

"Exactly! What kind of brother are you? I've never seen such a scumbag. Even if the cops can't do anything, we'll beat you to a pulp ourselves!"
