Amber left Harbor Heights and headed straight for the hospital.
Arthur was just delivering dinner to Xanthe.
Seeing her father and Xanthe getting along so warmly, Amber playfully hid outside the ward door, peeking her head in.
Xanthe spotted her immediately and called out, "Amber, stop hiding. I see you."
Amber played along, "Wow, you're amazing, Xanthe! I thought I was hiding so well."
Arthur glared at her playfully. "Being a brat again!"
Noticing she was still carrying her grocery basket, Arthur hesitated.
Xanthe asked directly, "Amber, did you come here straight from dinner with your friend?"
Amber nodded. "Yeah, but I was the only one eating. My friend got called away for work right after lunch. Oh, by the way, he insisted I bring you some health supplements."
With that, Amber opened the basket and pulled out all the premium wellness products Sharif had forced on her.
Arthur's eyes went wide.
Even though he rarely saw luxury goods, he had certainly heard of them.
The small overbed table was instantly piled high. Arthur was legitimately worried the flimsy table might collapse under the weight. "Amber..."
"It's fine, Dad. He meant well. He has a ton of these supplements lying around his house, and they'll just expire if nobody eats them. Xanthe, you're doing him a favor by taking them."
Sharif: *As if I care!*
Arthur felt that his daughter had absolutely zero reverence for wealthy people.
"Amber, even if your friend has a lot of these lying around, you can't just take them."
Xanthe nodded in agreement. "Exactly, Amber. These supplements look incredibly expensive. I couldn't possibly accept this."
Amber rolled her eyes. "Xanthe, supplements are meant to be consumed. How can you not accept them? I had to reject him several times before he finally stopped shoving things at me. You have no idea. Good thing I only had a grocery basket. If I had a shopping cart, he probably would have loaded a whole crate."
Amber wasn't exaggerating in the slightest.
Sharif was actually a very generous person; he just had a toxic way of speaking. When he forced the supplements on her, his excuse was his usual, "If your relative gets better, it helps me out too. I don't want any more 'emergencies.' You missing one section of the fifth mock exam is already in the past, but the Exam is a matter of life and death."
Amber naturally didn't hold back. Sharif had a mountain of this stuff at his place anyway. In her past life, she had thrown out countless expired boxes of his.
Free stuff? Why not?
At that moment, Grace swaggered into Xanthe's ward holding a grocery basket she snatched from Amber, quickly ducking by the door to eavesdrop. She figured the brat was just addicted to showing off.
