Lucian Juarez was acting like a rabid dog.

Especially after seeing Amber Newman slap his mother, he lunged forward, looking as though he wanted to strangle her to death.

Arthur stepped in front of him. "Lucian, what the hell is going on? Don't you dare touch her again!"

Grace howled, "Arthur, you bastard! How could you bully a single mother and her son like this?"

Joanne started crying. "Amber, I haven't done anything to you, so why are you setting me up? And even if you have it out for me, why would you scheme against Grace?"

"She’s taken care of you since you were six. Even if she isn't your biological mother, she's practically raised you!"

"You really crossed the line this time. You can't blame Lucian or Grace for this. You deserved to be hit."

"Arthur, you're a victim here too. You have no idea what your daughter is doing behind your back. She acts like a perfect angel in front of you, but in secret, she orchestrated a whole extortion scheme with Loretta Leavitt."

"Amber, if you don't explain yourself right now, Grace and I are calling the cops."

Joanne seized the opportunity to escalate the situation, causing Arthur—who had been shielding his daughter—to freeze in shock. "What did you just say?"

Xanthe tried to speak up for Amber, but Amber held her back. Grace wailed, "She said you raised a fine daughter! Sweet and obedient to your face, but it's all an act. She hated that you were helping me run Grace Diner, so she sent you home to make soup. Then, behind my back, she had that housekeeper Loretta clean up and pretend Joanne paid her a thousand dollars to be my caregiver!"

"But Joanne never paid her! She said that I was the one who told Loretta to do the work and demand the money from her. Amber, what have I ever done to wrong you? Back at the hospital, I never forced your dad to help me. He did it out of the goodness of his heart, and this is how you repay us? By stabbing us in the back?"

"Arthur, my heart is breaking. How did Amber turn out like this? When I first met her, she could barely even speak properly. All these years, just like Joanne said, I've loved her like my own daughter. And she repays me with betrayal."

"I can't take it anymore! She knows the thirty thousand Joanne spent was the money I saved up for her future wedding. Not only did she refuse to help me get it back, but she played me for a fool! And those twelve hundred dollars I gave you yesterday? She was the one who calculated every last cent."

"Arthur, what did I ever do to deserve this from your daughter? If we don't clear this up today... extortion is a serious crime."

Arthur's face drained of color. Lucian practically radiated hostility. A few neighbors at the end of the hallway poked their heads out, asking, "What's going on?"

Someone muttered, "Grace got into a fight with Arthur's new girlfriend."
