"Hmm…"
Emmett asked, "When are you planning to bring your son back? I bet you're worried sick about leaving him out there all by himself. It's not right, you know. You'll always be fretting about him! Why not bring him to us sooner, so you can take care of him better, and I can bond with him?"
Clara was taken aback, her gaze instinctively drawn to him.
What was Emmett saying? He was talking about bonding with "her child"!
Could this arrogant man be willing to accept her child? Even though there was no such a child at all but...
Emmett was in the dark!
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Emmett was a bit puzzled.
Clara gave an awkward chuckle…
"I… I haven’t decided about that yet! I’ll discuss it with you after I’ve thought it through! Now is not the time."
"I won’t push you; it’s your call! Just don’t accuse me of not accepting your son later!"
Clara nodded, "No, no! I would never think that!"
"Let’s go then; my mom is waiting for us! She can't wait to meet Alex."
"Sure."
Meanwhile, another plane was touching down domestically.
Soon, a little girl with luggage in tow swiftly disembarked.
After leaving the airport, she hopped into a car that had come to pick her up.
"Your accommodations are all set up. Shall we head there now?"
When she saw the car, she quickly moved to greet them.
"Oh, my little grandson! Your grandma has been missing you so much!"
Upon seeing his grandma, Alex didn't show any signs of fear. On the contrary, he rushed towards her.
"You're my grandma, right?"
"Yes, I am; I’m your grandma!" Sophia immediately picked him up, wishing she could spin him around.
Emmett said helplessly, "Mom, you're not in the best health; maybe you shouldn’t be picking him up."
Clara said, "Yes, the child is quite heavy."
Sophia firmly said, "I don't care; I want to hold him! You have no idea how I’ve been getting by these past few days! Now that I’ve finally seen him, I feel at peace!"
