He didn't know why his mom always had a bad attitude towards Clara recently.

"Nah, she's been pretty nice to all of us, especially the two kids."

"Aiden and Alex are her little darlings, I can understand her desire to protect kids, but I don't want her to always trouble you!" Emmett said, looking upset. "I tried talking to her about it, but she wouldn't listen! If it weren't for you stopping me, I would have moved out."

Clara laughed it off, "Let's not do anything drastic. It's not a big deal. We're family, if we move out, people will start talking."

"But she's always giving you a hard time." Emmett put his arms around Clara, "I can't stand to see you being scolded."

Clara looked at him and smiled, "Getting a few words from the elders, it's not a big deal! Don't take it so seriously! We finally have a chance to live together as a family, I don't want a small thing like this to distance you from your parents."

Emmett sighed, "You're the best wife in the world."

"Stop it, you're making me blush." Clara quickly changed the topic to her design drafts, "Take another look! Let me know if there's anything I need to change! Even if I have to pull an all-nighter, I'll get it fixed."

"No rush, your health comes first, don't stay up late." Emmett stood up, leading Clara to the balcony, "Look at this city, so many of these buildings are mine, I want to share them with you."

Clara looked out, her mood lightening, "That one too?"

"Yep."

"And that grey building?"

Emmett nodded, "That's ours too."

Even though Clara knew Emmett was wealthy, she was still surprised when she saw all of his properties.
