Emmett chuckled, “Don’t get me wrong, even if you are into me, I don’t swing that way.”
...
Clara was led to a nearby bank where the man withdrew ten grand in cash for her.
She accepted the money, then handed him her business card. “Give me a call; I’ll save your number! If the repair costs less, I’ll refund you!”
“No need.” The man smiled and suddenly stepped back. “Running into your car was actually intentional.”
Intentional?
Clara frowned, a bit puzzled.
“Why would you intentionally hit me? We have no beef.”
Before she could finish her sentence, she noticed a silhouette behind the man...
Instantly, she understood.
Clara turned pale and stepped back, “Taylor, did you set this up?”
Taylor nodded, smiling politely, “It’s been tough to see you. Emmett has been guarding you too tightly; it’s not easy for me to meet you.”
“Why would you want to see me? There’s nothing to talk about between us.” Clara said, then turned around to leave in a hurry.
Taylor quickly approached and grabbed her wrist.
“Why are you avoiding me? Clara, tell me, what exactly happened in our past?”
Clara instinctively shook off his hand, nothing happened! You and I have no relation!”
“... you’re lying.”
“Mr. Atwood, are you okay? I’ll take you to the hospital!” The secretary nearby hurried over.
Seeing that he was being taken care of, Clara turned to leave.
But she hadn’t walked far when Taylor shouted from behind, “Someone wants to harm you, do you know that?”
“...” Clara stiffened, “Thanks for your concern, but I have a husband now, if anyone wants to harm me, he’ll help me, you don’t need to worry.”
“Do you really believe that Emmett will always be with you?”
“He treats me very well.”
“But you never gave me a chance to treat you well!” Taylor painfully walked towards her, step by step, “I don’t care what happened between us, as long as you’re willing to come back to me now, I can let go of everything.”
Clara looked him in the eyes, “Are you crazy? I’m married now, how can I be with you? And... you have amnesia, your memories of us are your imagination! You don’t know anything about the past!”
