Clara had always been raising Alex alone. She treated him like a treasure, and didn’t even want to date. If Emmett couldn’t treat her sincerely, he definitely won't watch his mum suffer.
"Of course."
He wouldn't agree if it would hurt her.
Alex asked "But, Aiden... Is there any way you can let dad know I exist? Or let mom and dad know that they are our parents?"
Alex has been thinking about this for a long time.
Aiden said, "Well, I haven't figured that out yet."
Because it could be tricky trying to let his father know without him finding out it was planned.
"Let's do it this way!" Alex suddenly had a new inspiration, "We can go to the amusement park together on the weekends. You ask dad to take you, and I'll ask mom to take me. This way we can pretend to meet unexpectedly, without raising their suspicions, and let them know about each other's existence."
Alex's face was full of triumph, thinking he was really clever. He couldn't help but laugh happily under the blanket.
"Amusement park?"
Aiden asked in a puzzled low voice.
"Yeah, is there a problem?" Alex tilted his head, thinking there was nothing strange about going to the amusement park. "Aiden, don't you go to amusement parks? It's fun there!"
He suddenly opened his mouth in surprise, "Does that strict dad of yours not even let you go to the amusement park...."
Aiden frowned, "I just don't want to go." He thought amusement parks were childish.
He thought about it seriously and then said, "And, do you think someone like Emmett would have time to take me to an amusement park?"
From childhood to adulthood, it was always his Grandma and nanny who took him to such places. Because those were the Melendez family's businesses, he knew that.
As soon as Emmett walked in the door, he was tackled into a hug.
He obviously froze for a moment, then bent down to pick Aiden up from the floor, "Mm."
Facing his son's spontaneous action, he felt a little uncomfortable for a moment. If he didn't know he only had one son, he would’ve suspected that his son had been switched.
"Dad, did you just get off work? Is work busy?" Aiden asked, tilting his head and imitating a playful voice. Although he was a little uncomfortable, he still put his little hand around Emmett's neck.
"Mm."
Although Emmett answered, his tone was still somewhat cold. Holding his son in his arms, he didn't know what to say at first, so he thought of a topic and asked, "Have you finished today's homework?"
There wasn't any annoyance on Aiden's little face as he said, "Yes, it's all done!"
