"You're not making any sense!" Leah exclaimed, "All I want is a decent husband; why is that wrong? Clara is standing in my way. Am I not allowed to do something about it? You're just mad because you have a soft spot for her, and now you're blaming me!" Leah waved her hand dismissively and said, "Fine, I won't bother you anymore. I'll find someone else to discuss the Emmett situation with. After all, you're not the only man who's interested in Clara."
With that, Leah made the decision to leave.
Ignoring his own physical state, Elio quickly stood up and grabbed Leah.
"Who are you planning to talk to? I won't allow it!"
"See, you're blaming me again and not letting me work with others. Do I have to listen to you all the time?" Leah threw off his hand and said, "If we weren't related, I wouldn't even bother seeing you! There are plenty of people in this world who can work with me. Even if no one helps me, I can still get Clara away from Emmett. Don't flatter yourself."
"I agreed to work with you; what else do you want?"
"But there's been no progress at all!" Leah scoffed and said, "Alright, you think about what to do next. I'm off to have tea with Emmett's mother."
Elio frowned. "You've even got Emmett's mother on your side?"
"Of course! Did you think I was stupid enough to rely solely on you?" Leah pointed a finger at his chest and said, "Just so you know, I will succeed. No one can stop me, not Clara, not you."
With that, she walked out of the hospital room with a triumphant smile.
Elio clenched his fist and punched the wall in frustration.
This had to be the worst moment of his life! And it was all his own fault! If he hadn't gotten Leah involved in the first place, he wouldn't be in this mess.
But he can't turn back time!
