Sophia took Alex and left.
Aiden quickly said, "I'm going to explain things to Grandma! Don't get pissed off, guys!"
Emmett clenched his fists, ready to follow.
Clara held him back, "Hold on! Don't start another fight with your mom because of me! I'm fine!"
"I think she's really crossing the line now! No matter what you do, she's never satisfied!"
"She's probably just worried about the kid. And I did do something wrong. I shouldn't have been so strict with Alex."
"But you're doing it for the kid's good! If everyone spoils him as my mom does, what is he going to turn into?"
Clara tightly held his hand, smiled, and said, "Every family needs someone to be strict and someone to be lenient! I don't mind being the strict one! You don't need to get involved! You've had a long day at work. Go take a shower and relax, don't bother with your mom."
"...Clara, how come you're so patient!"
"It's not a big deal!" Besides, she wouldn't know how to handle things if she didn't hold back.
She couldn't possibly reveal the truth to everyone, could she?
...
In the children's room, Alex could tell something was off with Aiden as soon as he walked in.
He cautiously said, "Aiden..."
"I really don't get the adult world! Isn't it great that we're all getting along at home?" Aiden sighed like a little adult, "All right, I don't want to scold you anymore! Just don't cause any more trouble! You've seen the situation at home, and it’s complicated enough already. You need to be more careful."
"Okay!" Seeing Aiden's improved mood, Alex immediately snuggled up to him, "I know I'm not as smart as you, so I'll listen to you from now on! Whatever you tell me to do, I'll do it! I won't cause Mom any more trouble!"
"Good, now get started on your homework." Aiden handed him a workbook.
Seeing the homework, Alex's face immediately fell into despair.
"When will I not have to do homework anymore?"
"You have to keep learning! Even when you grow up, you can't stop learning!" Aiden glanced at him and forcefully pulled him to the chair, "Every time we bring up homework, you make that face! If you studied well, these problems will be easy for you! If you don't understand, you can ask me!"
