"What's going on? Are you planning on keeping this secret forever?" Taylor snapped at her. "Why’d you have to treat Clara like that? You knew I loved her. You knew I’d be devastated if the truth came out!"
Teresa took a step back, shocked and scared.
"What...what do you know?"
"I know everything!" Taylor pulled out a surveillance tape and threw it at her. "Have a look for yourself! I bet you’ve forgotten what you did!"
Teresa didn't reach out to catch it, but the glimpse of the screen was enough to drain the color from her face.
"No way, this can't be! Someone's trying to sabotage our relationship!" Teresa quickly grabbed his arm, "Taylor, listen to me. When you were in the hospital, Clara was already with another guy! She was never loyal to you. How could I let her stay with you?"
Taylor stared at his mother, unable to comprehend the reality in front of him. "You're still trying to lie to me? You really think I'm a puppet you can manipulate?"
"No! Taylor, listen to me!"
"I'm going to find her; beg her to leave you alone!"
"Do you think you haven't hurt her enough?" Taylor covered his face, sinking to his knees. "You're both women. Do you know what kind of pressure Clara was under? I was her last hope, but you cruelly took that away from her! If you hadn't interfered or lied to me, Clara wouldn't be like this now! You ruined her! You ruined a girl's life! Has a comfortable life made your heart so cold, so ruthless, so indifferent? How would you feel if you were in Clara's shoes?"
Teresa's mouth opened, but no words came out.
"Forget it. Nothing I say will make a difference! Otherwise, you wouldn't have done what you did and wouldn’t be covering it up now. You haven't shown a shred of remorse. Mom, I'm so disappointed in you!"
