"I really can't make head or tail of this... His mom never discusses anything with Emmett, and I’ve no clue how she found out about you."

Leah faked a smile, "Well, that's just peachy!"

"But don't sweat it. I’ll try my best to keep you out of this! If all else fails, I'll come clean about who I am."

"No way!" Leah exclaimed immediately after Clara finished her sentence.

Clara sighed, "That's been my worry all along. I've tried to feel Emmett out before, and he hates being lied to."
