Clara gripped her phone tightly, "What does he mean, 'it's for my own good'? He just wants me to be his property."

"Elio is really trying to protect you."

"I know I owe him, but that doesn't mean he can disregard my feelings! I'm a person, not a pet, and he can't just strip me of my freedom."

The maid barged straight in by breaking the door.

Seeing Clara sitting on the floor, she walked over helplessly.

"Ms. Calloway, you should listen to Elio."

Clara looked up at her, "Fine, you want to force me? Then I won't eat, drink or talk from now on! If Elio wants me, he can have my dead body!"

Their grandma seemed different than usual, so he cautiously asked, "Did Mom and Dad come home yet?"

Sophia pulled Aiden aside, speaking cautiously, "Aiden, Grandma has something to tell you."

Aiden had a bad feeling, "Hmm, what's up? Did Mom argue with you again?"

It'd be easier with Alex; after all, Alex had been with his mom since he was little, and he'd probably be thrilled once he heard the news.

The problem now was Aiden. Sophia was still afraid he wouldn't accept it.

As expected, Aiden was full of resistance.

"I don't want a new mom. Grandma, can you bring Clara back? If you don't like her, I can make her change. You tell me what you don't like about her, and then I'll talk to her about it."

Sophia sighed, "It's not that I don't like her. It’s that she's not qualified to be your mother."

"But mom treats me really well. Why isn't she suitable?" Aiden tilted his head, looking at Grandma.
