For the time being, the last thing he wanted to hear was Leah’s voice, so he hung up the call.

When the call ended, Leah was fuming. She was extremely close to hurling her phone away.

She realized that controlling Elio was no easy feat.

Furthermore, she had thought that once she had his parents under her thumb, Elio would be putty in her hands. But who would've thought, for Clara, he’d go so far as to disregard his parents’ safety?

However, things had already gone very far, and she needed to ensure Clara was out of the picture for Emmett.

After a brief hesitation, Leah picked up her phone and made a call, which was quickly answered.

"Why the hell are you calling me?"

"Guess what? I need a drug that can control people."

The person on the other end of the line was taken aback before bursting into laughter.

"Do you take me for some drug guru from a novel? Do you have any idea of the mess you’ve made for the Milburn family? You have the nerve to call me after you leaked the Atwood family's affairs, do you?"

"Yes, that was me! But I did it for the good of our entire family. If you give me the drug, I’ll remember the favor."

"I don't have this drug, nor can I make it! Mrs. Atwood chewed me out! What else do you want? I'm clueless!”

Newell Milburn flatly refused her, but Leah just laughed and said, "Our family's secret recipe has been passed on to you; how can you not know? Do you think I'll back down after saying this much?"

It seemed Leah was hell-bent on getting the recipe.

Newell started to worry, if he didn't agree, there would be consequences.

"If you agree now, I’ll remember the favor. I'll consider you in the future for any good opportunities. But if you don't cooperate, don't blame me!"
