"That's what the TV host said! I think he's pretty spot on. Wouldn't it be great if you had a boyfriend to keep you company?"

"Get rid of that thought as soon as possible!" Clara wanted to roll her eyes. "And stop watching that show too. It's bullshit!"

Alex said, "Mommy, you'll always be my favorite mommy!"

Clara suddenly laughed.

Everything she did for her son was worth it!

Seeing his smiling face, Clara no longer doubted whether her decision years ago was right or not.

The next day, Clara arrived at Melendez's company early in the morning.

She was worried that Emmett Melendez would be angry with her for rejecting him yesterday. So she had prepared the itinerary in advance and made all the necessary arrangements.

At half-past eight, Emmett walked into the office.

He glanced at Clara standing next to the desk and furrowed his brow. "What are you standing here for?"

"Sorry, Mr. Melendez... Yesterday..."

"Report the schedule."

Clara nodded quickly and began reporting the meetings he would attend today.

Just as the report was about to end, she finally felt relieved. Then, suddenly, Emmett spoke up.

"Would you marry me?"

"What?" Clara was taken aback.

"I mean a contractual marriage. We won't have an actual husband-wife relationship." Emmett didn't look at her; he continued to look at the contract and said, "My father is pressuring me to get married. He might have approached you too. I don't want to get married, so I thought of finding a contract bride."

"Alright..."

"Do you have any other concerns?"

Clara looked at Emmett's face and said, "Why do you have to choose me? I think the ladies who wanted to go on a date with you before were all beautiful!"

"Because I don't want to. Are you satisfied with that answer?"

"Agree or disagree?"

Seeing his seriousness, Clara immediately said, "I will definitely help with this favor! After all, Mr. Melendez saved me before. I still owe you money! Even if you don't give me any additional compensation, I will accept it!"

Although she didn't have any special abilities, she disliked being indebted to others. If given the opportunity, she would naturally repay the favor.
