Two Times the Charm (Clara and Emmett) novel Chapter 356

But then again, Clara thought, Elio had a point. What would happen to the kids if she was not around?

That was her biggest worry in this world. If it wasn't for Leah, she wouldn't worry about Aiden and Alex.

But now, with Leah's plan about to succeed, if that formula was found, Emmett would be entirely under her control...

Thinking about this, Clara was worried for her two boys.

Her own safety didn't matter anymore. She couldn't let her sons get caught up in adult conflicts.

Now, here she was, locked up, unable to do anything. She could only rely on Elio.

"Don't worry, I'll definitely help you with this!"

Elio swallowed back all the words he was about to say, a glimmer of hope kindling in his heart.

If Clara went into hiding with the boys, he would be the only one who knew it.

Would life go back to how it was then?

Just him, Clara, and the kids, like a family, looking out for each other, caring for each other.

He wanted to be with Clara, even if he never won her heart, even if she would never accept him, at least she wouldn't belong to any other man. That was enough!

...

Emmett immediately drove back to the Melendez family.

Sophia felt wronged. She gritted her teeth and said, "Why are you all blaming me? Isn't this all because of Clara? I've made it clear I can't stand her. If she had any self-awareness, she would have left my son a long time ago!"

"What use is it? As long as the four of them are happy, that's all that matters!"

Sophia furrowed her brow. "If it wasn't for Clara, Aiden and Alex wouldn't have run away from home, and they wouldn't be missing. Patrick, you're my husband! Why are you defending this outsider, Clara?"

"Am I defending her? I just want you to wake up! I really don't know what you're thinking all day! Can you focus your energy on something other than causing trouble?"

Emmett listened to his parents arguing, not wanting to interrupt.

Suddenly, his phone rang. It was Matt.

Emmett immediately answered.
