"Yes."
Clara walked to Leah's side, her head down, and slowly pulled out a chair. Leah's mocking whisper echoed in her ears.
"Look at him, he's not interested in you anymore."
Sophia was even colder. "Remember what I told you. Find a chance and get out of here!"
Clara bit her lower lip, hiding behind the dining table, trying to make herself less noticeable.
But Emmett, once seated, looked at her and said, "Why are you standing so far away? As a maid, shouldn't you know how to serve your master?"
Clara was unable to speak.
"Pour me some wine!" Emmett ordered.
"Son, look at her sulking here. She's such a mood killer. Let her go!" Sophia couldn't help but speak.
The dining atmosphere had become very strange, making Leah feel awkward.
"I don't find her depressing." Emmett didn't even bother to look up. "If you guys find her depressing, feel free to leave."
Sophia pursed her lips, not daring to say another word.
Leah quickly laughed it off. "Emmett, don't misunderstand Sophia's intentions. She personally ordered this lavish dinner with all your favorite dishes. Let's focus on the gourmet food. Come, Clara, stop standing there. Join us..."
"What right does she have to sit and eat?" Sophia whispered to Leah, "Didn't I tell you not to treat her like a friend? She's polluting our air in the Melendez household!"
