Clara bit her lip hard. "Thank you, ma'am."
With that, Clara walked away, unsure of how she was even moving.
It felt as though everything had disappeared along with Emmett.
…
Sophia rushed towards Leah's room in a hurry.
After reaching the door, she was about to knock when she heard Leah talking on the phone about something to do with the children.
Could it be that she was planning to take Aiden and Alex somewhere?
Or maybe she was figuring out a way to get the boys to accept her.
Sophia was genuinely happy, feeling that her decision was truly wise. Her son would thank her one day.
She knocked on the door, and Leah’s voice abruptly stopped.
A few seconds passed before Leah opened the door, looking a bit flustered.
But Sophia didn't notice; instead, she blurted out, "Guess what? My son has finally come around. He said you can move into his room tonight!"
"You always think things through." Leah lowered her eyes. She seemed a bit sad, but she still agreed. "For the sake of staying together with the boys for a long time, I'm willing to endure any hardships."
"That's the spirit! Sweetie, what kind of hardships can you suffer by my side? It's just that my son hasn't yet healed from the hurt Clara caused him; that's why you're being wronged. Once he realizes how good you are, what will Clara be worth?"
Leah nodded. "Alright, I'll move in tonight!"
"That's my girl! Oh, by the way." Sophia suddenly spoke. "I'm taking Aiden and Alex to the amusement park today. You should come with us."
Leah hesitated. "I don't think I should go. They're quite resistant to me. What if they don't enjoy themselves? Wouldn't it be my fault? They finally get a chance to have fun, so I think I'll sit this one out."
