Aiden and Alex had just gotten out of school.

No sooner had they hopped out of the car than Sophia was already waiting for them in the front yard of their suburban house.

Aiden quirked an eyebrow. "Are we going to the amusement park?"

"Is it Leah Calloway?" Aiden, the smart one, guessed immediately.

Sophia chuckled. "Could you please be a little nice to her? She's never been to an amusement park."

Anticipating some resistance, Sophia was surprised when Alex nodded first. "Sure, let's invite her."

Aiden chimed in. "I didn't realize she was so deprived. We should definitely let her enjoy the amusement park today."

Sophia hadn't been this happy in a while. Not only had her son accepted Leah, but the kids seemed to be warming up to her as well. It looked like Leah's entry into the Melendez family was just around the corner.
