Alex's face immediately brightened, and a smirk spread across his lips as he pulled Leah towards his bedside.

"Come on, let's start with some lipstick. I heard from our teacher that a woman's beauty largely depends on how well she applies her lipstick."

Alex's small grin widened as he reached for the lipstick. He applied it generously to Leah's lips, apparently indifferent to whether it landed on the right spot or not.

If he could, he'd probably paint her entire face red.

"Next is... eyeliner."

At the mention of this, Leah recoiled slightly. "No way! Not eyeliner! It's too easy to poke my eyes."

"Don't worry, I have it under control. I’ve seen our teacher do it. I won't hurt your eyes." Alex assured her before proceeding to apply the eyeliner.

Alex applied the makeup with great enthusiasm, as if he were venting all his frustrations onto her face.

Minutes later, when Aiden emerged from his study, he was at a loss for words upon seeing Leah.

"I'm playing a makeup game with Leah. Don't you think she looks beautiful?" Alex asked.

"Aren't you taking this a bit too far, Alex? She came here to keep us company, not to be your personal canvas." Aiden chided Alex, expertly playing the role of the good cop.

Outside, the butler knocked on the door harshly. "Aren't you going to attend to the young master? If he gets mad and scolds me, you'll be the one to pay!"

Clara quickly got up. "Sorry, I'm on my way."

The butler glared at her. "You're asking for trouble by flirting around like that. Now that the young master has lost interest in you, remember how you got here when you're tired. You ungrateful creature!"

Clara took the butler's insults without saying anything back. What could she say? After all, she was the one who had deceived him.

She made her way through the back garden towards Emmett's room. On the way, she noticed a figure rushing towards her.
