Just as the butler was about to leave, he saw Sophia approaching. Out of respect, he quickly bowed, "Madam."

"Is Emmett in?" Sophia asked, glancing towards the master bedroom.

"Yes, the young master is in."

Sophia waved him off, "You may leave. I have something to discuss with him."

She entered Emmett's bedroom and closed the door behind her.

"Son, I heard Leah didn't stay in your room last night? You sent her away first thing in the morning? What on earth are you up to? I can't make head or tail of you anymore."

"I can't understand you, Mother. Why do you always push Leah at me?"

"For your own good, of course!" Sophia couldn't help but respond, "It's just Clara, isn't it? Look at yourself, is there any trace left of the Emmett I once knew?"

"I don't think I've changed. If you're here to speak for Leah again, then you needn't bother. I've already made myself clear."

"But she is the biological mother of the children! Don't you even consider your children? Since you have broken up with Clara and said that she is no longer in your heart, why not marry Leah for the sake of the children? She doesn't ask anything of you. She just wants to stay with her children and watch them grow."

Sophia was eager to settle the marriage between the two, so she wouldn't have to worry about Clara coming back again.

Emmett didn't want to talk about this anymore, nor did he want to hear Clara's name.
