"Oh, I see."
Sophia chuckled, "What's up, got a sudden interest in Leah? Let me tell you, in the past couple of days, Alex and Aiden have been absolutely smitten with her! They keep on pestering her to hang out with them. It's that blood bond. You can't cut that kind of connection!"
"Alex was raised by her since he was a baby, of course he's fond of her." Emmett didn't find anything surprising about that!
But it's funny when you think about it - he remembered that night years ago when Sophia insisted on a surrogate pregnancy, he certainly didn't resist that woman!
So why was it that these years later, every time Emmett saw Leah, he couldn't bear to look at her again?
Logically, she should have that scent that wouldn't repel him.
Otherwise, he wouldn't do anything with her that night, let alone have two children with her!
...
Clara had a restless night.
The next day, the butler deliberately assigned her to clean all the Melendez family's staircases, and they had to be spotless!
She felt a bit dizzy but didn't say anything about it.
Suddenly, she felt someone tap her on the shoulder from behind. Clara quickly turned around.
"Calm down first," Leah brushed off Clara’s hands, giving her a sharp look. "Elio may not have had his hands on the formula, but he's always been the best in the Milburn family when it comes to medicine. If you want to save Emmett, you'll have to get in touch with him and have him find a way!"
Hearing this, Clara's heart sank.
She shook her head, disappointed, "It's no use... I've already contacted Elio. He said there's nothing he can do! Since he never had the formula and wasn't involved in its creation, he's powerless!"
"Is he really powerless, or does he just not want to save Emmett?" Leah's face darkened, "This is all because of you. Elio definitely has a way to save Emmett; he just doesn't want to! He thinks as long as Emmett is alive, he can't have you, so Elio hopes Emmett will just die!"
Clara stepped back, her expression lost, shaking her head, "No, that can't be... he's not like that. He promised me that he would try his best to find a solution!"
"Heh, I really underestimated your naivety! You trusted me once; haven't you learned your lesson? Are you still trusting Elio? After all this time, it seems like you did it all to yourself." Leah clenched her fists tightly. "Anyway, I've said what I needed to say. If Emmett can't alleviate the toxicity in his body, then he's as good as dead! I couldn't care less; I can always find someone else. But I'm not so sure about you."
