Unemployed Family? Hidden Tycoons Dote On Her novel Chapter 666

Naomi's eyes narrowed a fraction, a thoughtful gleam flickering behind them.

"Mom, let Arabella take care of this. She knows what she's doing," Ethan said.

Jonathan nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I trust Arabella on this."

It was becoming clear to him that Arabella wasn't just skilled in medicine—she was sharp in pretty much everything.

"Alright, then," Florence conceded.

"Here, Arabella, have some more soup. It's been simmering for hours—full of nutrients," Florence said, ladling a generous portion into a bowl and handing it to her.

Arabella accepted it gratefully. "Thanks, Mom."

"Don't mention it." Florence's tone softened but held a gentle firmness. "Just promise me one thing—from now on, don't keep us in the dark, okay?"

"Okay," Arabella replied earnestly. "I won't make you worry like that again."

Florence smiled, relief washing over her features. "Good."

After dinner, Arabella asked Alfred to come up to her room.

"Alfred, next time you hear about something like this, please don't go straight to Mom and Dad, alright? Especially Mom—she gets really anxious," Arabella said, a hint of frustration coloring her voice.

Alfred sighed. "I was planning to bring it up with everyone—you needed backup to handle it properly—but I didn't expect Mom to overhear."

"I see," Arabella said, finally piecing it together. She let out a quiet sigh. "I thought I had everything under wraps, but I forgot about your line of work."

She had believed the whole incident could stay completely hidden, but once Alfred found out, it was only a matter of time before the whole family knew.

"When I first heard, I was pretty shaken up, too," Alfred admitted.

He paused, then asked carefully, "How's Mr. Stewart doing?"

"He got a cut on his arm while pulling me out of harm's way. We treated it right away. He's fine now," Arabella explained.

"He got hurt protecting you?" Alfred's expression turned complicated.

Matthew had taken a risk for her. He'd been injured because of her...

Arabella pressed her lips together lightly and gave a small nod.

Alfred patted her shoulder. "Have you decided what to get him as a thank-you?"

"I'm still working on it," she said.

"That's fine." Alfred hesitated briefly before adding with mixed emotions, "Anyway, I should head back downstairs."

"Okay." Arabella walked him to the door.

Just as Alfred stepped into the hallway, he spun back around suddenly. "Wait—what did you mean earlier by 'next time you find out about something like this'?!"

What kind of life had she been living before? How did she end up with so many people holding grudges against her?

Arabella's mouth twitched. "Poor choice of words. What I meant was, we should try to share good news with Mom and shield her from the bad stuff. I don't want her stressing over things."

"Oh." Alfred relaxed a little. "Alright, I'll see you later."

He walked away, and Arabella closed the door softly behind him.
