It reached straight into the thick black mist.
“Holy crap..
Caroline froze in shock.

Raven trotted back to her after finishing its business, plopped down at her side, and tilted its head like it was asking, “What’s got you so distracted?”
Caroline was not in the mood to let him run around anymore. She clipped his leash back on and hurried home.
As soon as she got inside, she tossed the leash aside and slipped straight into her storage space.
Inside, just like she had seen before, a river had appeared.
Or maybe more like a little creek?
It was about a meter wide and half a meter deep.
The water ran crystal clear. Under the light inside the space, faint blue specks glimmered in the current–just like the glowing dots from those gemstones that had leveled up her space.
Caroline scooped up a handful of water to look closer. It was icy cold, and the blue glow inside it was mesmerizing.
The longer she stared, the stronger the pull she felt toward it.
Almost without thinking, she took a sip.
Sweet, fresh, unbelievably good.
She scooped up another handful and drank again and again.
Before she knew it, she could not stop. The water felt addictive, like it had some kind of magic that made her want more.

By the time Caroline snapped out of it, her belly was round and tight.
She almost laughed at herself, but then a sharp pain tore through her stomach, spreading to her limbs and bones.
Instead of panic, excitement flared inside her.
She could feel power pushing through her body, slowly spreading in her veins.
She doubled over on the ground, sweat pouring down her forehead in dark, stinking drops.
Not just her face–her arms, chest, and cheeks were oozing the same foul black sweat. It was revolting.
The pain clawed deeper and deeper until she blacked out.
When Caroline came to, she was lying in a puddle of that filthy black sweat, too drained to move,
She wiped a shaky hand across her arm, and froze–her skin was flawless, smooth, snow–pale, almost luminous.
She bent over the creek for a look at her reflection and gasped.
What a gorgeous girl staring back at me!
Her features had not really changed—she always had good genes from her parents–but now her skin was brighter, her aura almost ethereal, like she had been refined into something otherworldly.
Caroline’s eyes sparkled.
This river is a treasure. My storage space just leveled up again.

Chapter 26 The Thick Black Mist
Although Caroline did not know why her storage space had changed like this, it was still a good thing.
On top of that, she could clearly feel her physical condition had improved a lot.
She tried running through a set of punches inside the space, then grabbed a few wooden boards.
One kick–crack! The boards shattered into pieces.
Her abilities and strength from her previous life had returned!
Not only that, she felt faster, stronger, and tougher than ever.
Caroline followed the little creek all the way to the back of the house.
There, she found a spring bubbling up.
The water was crystal clear, and the blue specks here were even denser than in the creek.
