Chapter 3
Gasps erupted from everywhere.
“Did Sterling just call her what I think he called her?!”
“She looks younger than him-how the hell is she the boss lady?!”
The three Reeds just stood there gaping like fish, looking at each other with pure disbelief written all over their faces.
I ignored all the chatter and pointed my riding crop straight at Bryce.
“Tell me! Where is Quinn, and what did you do to her?”
“Ha! Like I’d ever tell you where that bitch is!”
Bryce was still acting tough: “That psycho was scheming 24/7. I saw her push Madison down the stairs with my own eyes, and she was spreading nasty rumors about Madison everywhere! She brought this shit on herself!”
“You’re just some little girl-I call you boss lady out of respect, but you better stay the hell out of my business!”
I was so pissed I actually started laughing.
What kind of black magic did Madison use to brainwash all of them like this?
Looking at these four idiots, I let out the coldest laugh.
“You’re supposed to be Quinn’s biological parents, but you’ve never been parents to her for a single day. She was on the streets for eighteen years-did you ever try to understand her? To believe in her?”
“And you,” I turned to Bryce, “my brother arranged for you to marry a Reed daughter, not some fake-ass imposter. You knew the truth but didn’t tell the family-that’s straight-up betrayal!”
I started cracking that whip, laying into all four of them hard.
Just as they tried to scatter like roaches, security pinned them to the ground while they screamed bloody murder.
“Quinn’s just born rotten! The Reed family doesn’t have a daughter like that!”
“You think you can do this to us without consequences? A-list actress Gwyneth is Madison’s godsis-you better think twice, because her fans
don’t mess around!”
“Don’t think I’m scared of you just because I call you boss lady! You’re not blood family! Without the Sterlings, you’re nobody!”
Right then, the crowd started buzzing.
“Sterling Senior’s here!”
“Sir, please check on your son-he’s been beaten up real bad!”
Some middle-aged guy in a suit walked up, voice stern as hell: “What is this circus? Everyone stop right now!”
I lowered my whip, breathing hard.
The second Bryce got some relief, he ran to Sterling Senior to snitch.

“Dad. Jade’s being totally unreasonable! It’s my wedding day-look what she did to me!”
Madison rushed forward too: “Uncle, thank God you’re here! This wannabe actress didn’t just ruin our wedding, she beat up my parents too! They’re old-what if she seriously hurt them!”
Sterling Senior looked at the whole scene totally bewildered.
I cleared my throat, and he finally snapped back to reality:
“Boss lady, what are you doing here! If I’d known you were coming to Bryce’s wedding, I would’ve sent someone to pick you up!”
The three Reeds were gaping so wide their jaws nearly hit the floor-they looked absolutely braindead.
I waved my hand: “Skip the pleasantries. Let’s talk about your son first.”
“Dad arranged for him to marry the Reed family’s granddaughter. You wanna explain to me why there’s been a switcheroo? Where the hell is
the real bride?”
That’s when it hit him: “Yeah, where did Quinn go? Aren’t you the Reed family’s adopted daughter? How’d you end up in the wedding dress?”
Bryce had been planning to pull a fast one-once the ceremony was over, with all those guests watching, Sterling Senior would’ve had to accept
Madison as his daughter-in-law.
But I’d shut down his whole scheme.
He was stammering, couldn’t get a single word out.
“Speak up! Where’s Quinn!”
Sterling Senior’s roar froze the entire room.
Madison cowered behind the Reed parents, peeking out like a scared little mouse.
Mrs. Reed slapped her thigh: “That bitch Quinn is no good! Madison might not be our blood, but we’ve always treated her like our own precious
daughter!”
“Exactly! We raised Madison to be a proper lady from day one. How could that little slut even compare to Madison? She’s not worthy of
marrying into the Sterling family!”
“The Sterling family picks our own daughter-in-law—it’s not your place to run your mouths! If you keep refusing to talk, the Reed family better
pack up and get the hell out of New York!”
I was done with their bullshit.
When Sterling Senior’s bodyguards weren’t paying attention, I snatched the gun from his holster and had it pressed against Madison’s forehead
in seconds.
“Where is Quinn?”
When Bryce saw his dad turn away, he finally got scared.
He shakily managed a few words: “She’s… she’s at the Roosevelt…”
My brain exploded like a bomb had gone off.
