“The Roosevelt? That’s where all the sick shit happens-drugs, prostitution, everything! Give them enough money and they’ll do anything!”

“How can parents be this heartless! A woman goes to the Roosevelt and she’s completely destroyed!”

“Who’s the real Reed heiress here? What did their own kid do to deserve this! These two psychos sent their biological daughter to hell for their adopted one-they’re absolute monsters!”

My finger was locked around the gun, thumb flicking off the safety.

The sharp “click” of a bullet chambering echoed through the room.

“Roosevelt… how dare you, HOW DARE YOU!”

I didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger on Madison.

The gunshot cracked through the air, sending everyone scattering in terror.

Madison stood frozen like she’d been struck by lightning.

The pain she expected never came-the bullet had grazed her cheek and embedded in the wall behind her.

Three seconds later, she let out a blood-curdling scream.

A sharp smell filled the air-Madison had pissed herself from fear.

“Boss lady, let me explain!”

Bryce was pale as a ghost, kneeling and carefully trying to move the gun away.

Madison collapsed into Mrs. Reed’s arms, sobbing hysterically.

Mr. Reed glared at me with pure hatred: “She’s just some wannabe actress who learned all those backstabbing TV drama tricks. She loves acting

so much-we made her perform naked!”

“She’s our daughter-how we handle her is none of an outsider’s business! This is attempted murder! I’m gonna sue you!”

One look from me and security kicked Mr. Reed hard in the chest.

He clutched his chest, coughing violently, unable to say another word.

Sterling Senior looked at his fuck-up of a son and backhanded him across the face.

“What the hell happened? Explain everything!”

“I… I didn’t want to do that to her! She was jealous that Madison had loving parents and wanted to get rid of Madison. You don’t know how vicious she is-she drugged Madison and literally sold her to the Roosevelt brothels. If I hadn’t gotten there in time, Madison would’ve been

completely destroyed!”

Madison looked up, her pretty eyes all teary:

“Even after sister did that to me, I forgave her! But Mom and Dad said we had to teach her a lesson. Uncle Sterling, we already made a deal with the Roosevelt people-it was just to scare her a little. Sister’s definitely fine!”

He took the gun from me and left.

I turned to face the four of them.

“You better pray Quinn’s okay. If she’s hurt even a little bit, I’ll make you pay back a hundred, a thousand times over!”
