Quinn clutched the blanket around her, staring at Mrs. Reed with unfocused eyes.

The Reed parents kept looking back and forth between Madison and Quinn, their gaze finally settling on Quinn’s severed legs.

Madison screamed hysterically: “Mom, I’ll die! If I go with her, I’ll die! Save me!”

“I’ll take care of sister for the rest of her life-I’ll spend my whole life making it up to her! Please don’t abandon me!”

Mrs. Reed was shaking with rage, raising her hand to slap Madison.

Madison flinched, tears streaming down her face.

Mrs. Reed’s hand froze mid-air as she broke down wailing.

“Quinn, Mommy has wronged you! You shouldn’t have come back-this is all my fault!”

“Quinn, don’t blame Mommy! You lost your legs, but Madison could lose her life! Mom and Dad will leave you money to take care of yourself. You have such reliable friends-you won’t suffer anymore, and Mom and Dad can rest easy!”

Mr. Reed stayed silent, clearly agreeing with his wife’s choice.

Madison blinked innocently, her defiance crystal clear.

A single tear rolled down Quinn’s cheek as she closed her eyes in despair.

Of course I wasn’t letting this family off easy.

I let out a cold laugh and texted my assistant: [Time to move]

As I watched the Reed parents sign the disownment papers, Quinn bit her lip silently.

I held her hand and wiped the tears from her face: “It’s okay. Leave everything to me.”

She held back her sobs and nodded hard.

Just then, my assistant finally arrived.

“Boss, everything went smoothly-it’s all taken care of!”

I nodded slightly, and the next second Mr. Reed’s voice shot up.

“What! All of Reed Industries’ partners pulled their investments!”

“Where are the suppliers’ goods! We agreed on prices-why are they backing out!”

“The three hundred million bank loan isn’t due yet-why are they demanding payment now? I don’t have that kind of money!”

“What municipal document? That land’s getting subway access soon-how could they change it to a cemetery!”

Mr. Reed’s phone wouldn’t stop ringing. While they were distracted, I gave Sterling Senior a look.

Security came in and handcuffed Madison.

Mrs. Reed pulled her close protectively, shouting angrily: “What are you doing! I already signed the disownment papers-why are you still taking Madison!”

“You promised me-how can you go back on your word!”

“Promised you what?”

I laughed coldly, my eyes full of contempt and disgust: “I only said Quinn would have nothing to do with you-I never said how I’d deal with her!”

“Madison is suspected of attempted murder, which is illegal. She needs to be investigated! If you dare interfere, that’s harboring a criminal-you want to join her in prison?”

Mrs. Reed was stunned for a moment, then quietly stepped aside.

“Mom, how can you abandon me! I’ll die! I’ll really die!”

“Dad, save me! I don’t want to go to prison!”

Mr. Reed was too busy dealing with Reed Industries’ crisis to care about her.

Seeing that didn’t work, Madison immediately started cursing: “You two idiots! You didn’t believe your own daughter but believed everything I said! She’s like this because of you!”

Sterling Senior barked: “What are you waiting for? Get her out of here!”

The bodyguards dragged Madison to the door, but just as they were about to leave, a woman walked in.

“Sorry I’m late-is the wedding over?”

Madison’s eyes widened: “Gwyneth, you’re finally here!”
