What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 202

"If you don't have anything else for me, Mr. Sanders, I'll head back to Veridian Future," Kaia said. She set her coffee cup down, stood up, and walked out the door.

Finnian stared at the still-steaming cup of coffee she had left behind, lost in thought for a moment. Then, he walked over, picked up the cup, took a sip, and returned to his desk.

He dialed the Human Resources Department while he drank the coffee.

"Director Larson," he said, his voice dropping to a freezing temperature the second the call connected. "Handle the forum post incident immediately. Post the names of the responsible parties on the company board tomorrow and make sure they face strict disciplinary action."

On April 18th, Celine's "Timeless Grace" haute couture fashion show wrapped up.

That evening, Celine hosted a private after-party and invited Kaia, insisting she bring Brynlee along for the fun.

Holding Brynlee's hand, Kaia stepped into the banquet hall.

The lively chatter in the room instantly hushed for a moment as the guests turned to admire the new arrivals.

Kaia was wearing a dress custom-designed by Celine. It perfectly hugged her slender, elegant figure. The gown was a mesmerizing smoky blue silk with no excessive embellishments—just a sweeping off-the-shoulder neckline cascading into a flowing skirt, accented by intricate silver embroidery that exuded a mysterious, elegant charm.

Brynlee's little dress was also Celine's masterpiece. It was a soft pink gown embroidered with her favorite butterflies, making her look like a tiny, perfect lady.

Kaia, who usually went for a natural look, had her makeup professionally done tonight, looking absolutely stunning.

"Kaia, you made it!" Celine strode out of the crowd in a bold red gown, her presence commanding and unapologetic.

"Gorgeous. My taste is truly impeccable," Celine said, looking Kaia up and down before adding, "Of course, the dress is just the icing on the cake. With a face like yours, if you walked my runway, you'd outshine everyone."

Flustered by the compliment, Kaia smiled modestly. "The show was a huge success today. I could tell."

Celine beamed and crouched down to eye level with Brynlee. "Brynlee, sweetheart, you look so pretty! Make sure you have lots of fun with your mom tonight."

Kaia was about to reply when she felt her clutch vibrate.

She pulled out her phone and saw it was Dr. Miles Kendrick calling. It was probably about work.

"Celine, could you keep an eye on Brynlee for a second? I need to take this."

Kaia lifted the hem of her skirt and turned toward the exit. The click of her silver heels echoed sharply against the marble floors.

She leaned against the balcony railing in the hallway, chatting with Miles about work while admiring the hotel's modern architecture.

Suddenly, a group of people approached from down the hall.

Finnian had chosen this hotel to host a dinner with several of the Sanders Conglomerate's overseas executives. Noelle was with them, and the group was currently heading to the restaurant on the lower floor.

As they passed the hallway, a figure caught Finnian's eye, making him stop dead in his tracks.
