Dexter instantly texted back: "Understood."
After a second of hesitation, Finnian sent a quick text to Kaia. It was just a few words: "An emergency came up. Take care of yourself tonight."
He didn't expect a reply, nor did he wait for one. The ocean wind whipped through his hair and made his suit jacket snap sharply.
Just then, a staff manager rushed over. "Mr. Sanders, welcome aboard! Mr. Croft is waiting in the third-floor banquet hall. Allow me to show you the way."
"Thank you," Finnian replied, then immediately asked, "Could you check if Noelle Lawrence is on board?"
The manager smiled warmly. "Yes, she is. Ms. Lawrence is one of Mr. Croft's VIP guests. Please, follow me."
Hearing this, a massive wave of relief washed over Finnian. Since she was safe, there was nothing left to panic about.
Outside the window, the glittering lights of the metropolis slowly shrank into a blurry, brilliant halo in the distance.
Flanked by his driver and bodyguards, Finnian followed the manager to the entrance of the third-floor banquet hall.
The room was pure extravagance—expensive perfume mingling with the clinking of crystal glasses and booming laughter.
Finnian's towering, imposing figure stood at the entrance as his gaze swept through the massive crowd.
In the center of the dance floor, Noelle was dancing with a young man. She was wearing a stunning, form-fitting sapphire-blue gown with a slit climbing up her thigh. With every elegant step, her pale, gorgeous legs flashed alluringly under the lights.
Finnian's eyes narrowed with a sharp intensity. She was safe. But who the hell was the man she was dancing with?
Still, knowing she hadn't hidden away to hurt herself or do something desperate was enough to let him exhale.
The moment he stepped inside, a waiter handed him a glass of champagne. Landon Croft spotted the uninvited billionaire immediately. Thrilled by the surprise, Landon rushed over to greet him. "Mr. Sanders! It's an absolute honor to have you here tonight."
Finnian looked at the young heir of the Croft Group, a rising star in the business world. Finnian had deep ties with Landon's father, but he was more than willing to give the son face tonight.
"You're too kind. It's a privilege to be invited," Finnian replied flawlessly, clinking his glass against Landon's.
As Finnian drank, Landon noticed his gaze was locked dead on the dance floor. Following his line of sight, Landon saw Noelle in her dazzling blue dress. As she spun, the fabric flared around her like a blooming, intoxicating flower.
She hadn't pinned her hair up. Instead, it tumbled down her back in loose, elegant waves, radiating an undeniably seductive and feminine energy.
And the man loosely gripping her waist and holding her shoulder was none other than Martin Rhodes. They moved in perfect sync, the picture of intimacy.
"It's rare to see Ms. Lawrence looking so vibrant and bold," Landon complimented with a smile.
