What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 359

Noelle took the words to heart. It was true; she had noticed it too. Ever since Finnian had Brynlee, all of his affection had been divided.

"So, you're saying I lost just because I don't have the Sanders family bloodline?" Noelle let out a tragic laugh, yet a flicker of manic triumph spread across her eyes. She might not have it right now, but she would soon enough.

"Miss Noelle, you and Mr. Sanders still have Kaia standing between you. You need to think this through. You can't just rashly decide to have a baby," Martha cautioned, hoping Noelle wouldn't mess up the sequence of events. One wrong move, and it would be disastrous.

Noelle just smiled. "Martha, make me a bowl of bird's nest soup and bring it up to my study."

"Right away!" Martha quickly agreed.

Noelle walked into the study and stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, staring out at the view.

She stood there for a long time, the anxiety gnawing at her until she finally picked up her phone.

Her mind was a chaotic mess, but she knew one thing for certain: she needed to speak to Kaia directly.

The torment and agony she had endured over the last two days were something Kaia needed to taste for herself.

The phone rang a few times, then disconnected.

Noelle's eyebrows arched slightly. Armed with the unwavering determination of a victor, she dialed again.

"What do you want?" Kaia's voice came through, brisk and sharp.

"Sorry, Kaia, did I interrupt something?" Noelle asked, forcing her tone to sound incredibly breezy.

"Just say what you have to say," Kaia snapped, having zero patience for fake pleasantries.

Noelle's lips curled into a smirk. "Kaia, Finnian wants to set me up with Julian. Did you know?"

Kaia was genuinely surprised for a second before a cold scoff escaped her. "Is that so? No, I had no idea."

"Grandmother forced his hand. He had no choice but to agree. He's been in a terrible mood these last few days. Don't you think you should come back to the States and keep him company? I..."

Noelle's words seemed harmless on the surface, but every single syllable was laced with venom, designed to quietly slice Kaia open.

"Noelle," Kaia's voice suddenly cut through the line.

It wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable weight that commanded attention.

Noelle stopped talking.

Kaia's tone burned with barely restrained fury. "Are you calling to brag about something?"

Noelle let out a soft laugh. "Kaia, clinging to a man who doesn't love you is just pathetic. I know your seven-year marriage has been a sham, and you haven't experienced an ounce of the joy a real wife should. Life is short, Kaia. You should go out and have fun. I just think that instead of wasting your time..."

"Noelle, are you done?" Kaia interrupted her coldly. "You're panicking."

Noelle fell utterly silent.

Kaia's voice sliced through the tension. "You waited twenty years, and your grand prize is him tossing you to someone else. I waited seven years, and I finally saw the truth. You're far more pathetic than I am. You're still trapped in this delusion, while I've already walked away."
