Her tone was so frigid she might as well have been speaking to a total stranger.

"I came to see my daughter. You've been looking after her by yourself these past few days. You must be exhausted," Finnian replied softly.

"I'm not. I've been having a great time," Kaia shot back.

Hearing her father's voice, Brynlee came running out from the balcony. "Daddy! What are you doing here?"

She was just as shocked.

Finnian crouched down, scooped his daughter into his arms, and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Daddy missed you, so I came to find you."

"But how did you know where we were? I didn't tell you we were staying at this hotel!" Brynlee wrapped her arms around his neck, asking the exact question that was on everyone's mind.

Finnian's handsome face flushed slightly, and he quickly shot a glance at Kaia.

Kaia glared at him with icy disdain.

Celine grit her teeth and let out a sharp, mocking laugh. "Well, well. Does Mr. Sanders have psychic powers? Or maybe he just has us under 24/7 surveillance?"

Finnian managed a tight smile, keeping his composure. "I apologize, Kaia. I was just concerned about your safety, so I had some people discreetly keep an eye on you."

"Save it." Celine was absolutely done listening to his garbage. Could this man be any more of a hypocrite?

Kaia didn't want to get into a screaming match in front of Brynlee, so she kept her voice dangerously calm. "Since you missed your daughter so much, take her out to dinner. Celine and I have plans."

"Alright," Finnian agreed, then turned to Brynlee. "Let's go grab some dinner, okay? Your mom has been taking care of you all week. Let her go out and relax for a bit."

"Okay! But... Mommy, where are you and Auntie Celine going?" Brynlee asked curiously.

Celine immediately threw an arm around Kaia's shoulders and gave a wicked grin. "Oh, don't you worry about that. I've got a whole itinerary planned out. I guarantee your mom is going to have the time of her life."

Brynlee blinked innocently. "Auntie Celine, you're not taking my mom to watch handsome guys dance again, are you?"

At those words, Finnian's expression instantly darkened into a scowl.

He knew it. Celine was wild, and if Kaia kept hanging around her, she was going to be completely corrupted.

"Don't worry, sweetie, no dancing guys tonight," Celine promised with a smirk, glancing at Kaia.

Celine couldn't help but ask, "Seriously though, how on earth did Noelle manage to wrap both Sanders brothers around her little finger? I mean, yeah, she's pretty, but guys in their tax bracket have seen every stunning supermodel on the planet. Why does it absolutely have to be her?"

Kaia froze. Honestly, she desperately wanted the answer to that question too.
