What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 444

Elaine looked absolutely horrified, glaring at Kaia. "What are you talking about? Where is his heart?"

Kaia looked down and let out a soft, mocking laugh. When she looked up, her eyes were completely cold. "His heart belongs to his precious sister-in-law."

"Kaia, what kind of garbage are you spewing?" Elaine's face turned completely dark, her eyes flashing with pure malice. "Are you trying to say Finnian and Noelle are having some sort of dirty affair?"

Kaia hadn't expected Elaine to react quite so violently. She paused for a moment before replying, "Don't you know? The way Finnian cares for Noelle looks a lot more like romance. When she gets hurt, he drops everything to rush her to the doctor. When she's sad, he runs to comfort her. He'll even spend the entire night at her apartment, completely ignoring his own wife and daughter. If her phone is turned off, he scours the entire city like a lunatic looking for her. Did you really not know any of this?"

Elaine's face drained of color, turning a sickly white, but Kaia didn't stop.

"You said the Sanders family never mistreated me. You're right, they treated me decently. They gave me a platform to build my career, which brought me fame and wealth. But to say it was just handed to me? That's a lie. I fought for it with my own ability. I built the Aethelstan R&D system from scratch. Even when Noelle returned from abroad and hijacked half of my life's work, I never said a word. But what she wanted to steal wasn't just my projects. She wanted to steal my husband."

Elaine was visibly shaking. She shot up from her chair, her hand violently swiping the coffee cup on the table. The dark, scalding liquid splashed directly onto Kaia's pristine white coat.

The coffee dripped down the fabric and splattered onto the floor.

The atmosphere in the booth instantly flatlined. It was a suffocating, dead silence, broken only by Elaine's furious, ragged breathing.

"Kaia, you... shut your damn mouth!" Elaine stood there, trembling with rage. "Don't you dare spout your nonsense here. This is your fault, don't blame innocent people. You're completely ungrateful, and Finnian has never done anything to wrong you."
