"That's for you to figure out," Kaia said coldly. "I can't make that decision for you. If Sophia wants to divorce you, covering it up won't do you any good."

Kaia had bailed her brother out more times than she could count, but this time, she refused to enable him. She would lend him money for a new place to live, but she absolutely would not pay off this massive debt.

Kaia turned. Three rough-looking men blocked her path. The leader, a thick-necked man with a menacing smirk, shrugged his shoulders. "Hello, Ms. Chavez. You probably don't know us, but you'll definitely recognize this."

He pulled a piece of paper from his jacket and unfolded it. It was an IOU, bearing Leo's signature.

Kaia's expression darkened.

"Your brother owes us ten million dollars," the leader said, his smile failing to reach his cold eyes. "He claims he's broke. So, we had no choice but to come to you. A woman of your status can easily spare some pocket change."

Kaia glared at him, her voice icy. "If he owes you money, take it up with him. What does this have to do with me?"
