What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 554

Chad snapped several photos and recorded a few seconds of video. Finally, he zoomed in on the picture and stared at the way Kaia looked at the man. Her eyes were warm, focused, and sincere, as if they were the only two people left in the entire world.

"What the hell is going on? My goddess..." Chad muttered, taking a few hurried steps before realizing he was acting like a lunatic.

He quickly pulled out his phone and rapidly created a new group chat, tossing only two people into it.

One was Finnian, and the other was Quentin.

He threw together a dramatic group name: Trouble at the Movie Theater.

The next second, he flooded the chat with the photos and the video, followed by a crying meme. "Finnian, what's going on man? Does my goddess have a new guy?"

Quentin was the first to see it. He instantly replied with one word: "Damn!"

Then, he immediately tagged Finnian. "This guy looks familiar, but I can't place him right now."

Chad, however, remembered. He quickly typed back, "He's a politician. State Department. Three generations of his family have been in the government."

When Finnian finally saw the messages, he was sitting in the back of his car, heading from the office back to his villa.

When his phone vibrated, he picked it up and glanced at it. Seeing he had been dragged into a new group with a ridiculous name, he paid it no mind—until Quentin tagged him.

He clicked it open. In an instant, all the blood rushed to his head, aggressively clearing the exhausted haze from his mind.

In the photo, Kaia was walking beside Simon as they moved toward the ticket checkpoint. They were incredibly close. In the short video clip, someone had nearly bumped into Kaia, and Simon had smoothly reached out, pulling her gently toward him in a deeply protective gesture.

Right then, Chad fired off another message in the chat: "Is Dr. Chavez actually going to date this diplomat? Say it ain't so. My goddess is way too good for anyone."

Finnian typed out a cold reply: "What exactly are you trying to do?"

Chad replied, half-joking and half-serious, "I just want to chat with Dr. Chavez. Are you pissed, Finnian?"

"No," Finnian quickly shot back. "She's completely free now. I have no right to control her."

"Then aren't you worried you'll be getting her wedding invitation in the mail next month?" Chad's words struck like a dagger to the heart.

Finnian's fingers clenched painfully tight around his phone. A wedding invitation?
