What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 588

Kaia looked at her gratefully. "Thank you, Mrs. Quinn. You're truly a wonderful person."

"You're wonderful too. I've known that for a long time. You're a good girl." Mrs. Quinn looked at her, growing fonder by the second. Educated, polite, gentle, and sensible—she was exactly the kind of woman elders loved, whether as a daughter or a daughter-in-law.

"Alright, I'll start by just being friends with him." Kaia finally offered a compromise.

Mrs. Quinn's eyes lit up instantly, though she tried to keep her smile restrained. "Good, good! Friends are great. Start as friends, spend some time together, no rush."

Linda stayed a little longer, chatting about casual family matters before taking her leave. She knew Kaia was busy and didn't want to overstay her welcome.

Kaia walked her out, accompanying her all the way to the front doors of the company. She stood and watched until Mrs. Quinn got into her car, lingering for a moment before turning back inside.

News of Linda Quinn delivering lunch soon reached Finnian's ears.

Dexter reported it, adding that Kaia had walked Linda downstairs, and the two looked as close as family.

Finnian's grip on his pen tightened. "The Quinn family is getting impatient."

Dexter stood by silently, not daring to comment.

Of course they were. A phenomenal woman like Kaia wouldn't stay single for long.

A sudden wave of irritation washed over Finnian. He couldn't focus on a single word of the document in front of him.

After Dexter left, the office fell silent. Finnian tossed his pen aside and headed straight for his Private Gym. As he lifted weights, he replayed the afternoon's board meeting in his head. The old executives had cornered him, lecturing him endlessly.

Though they hadn't outright yelled, they were extremely unhappy that his personal scandals had caused a dip in the company's stock price.

Her role had shifted too—from an admirer, to a wife, and now to his ex-wife.

She had officially pushed him out of her world.

Finnian ran until he could barely breathe, finally collapsing into a chair nearby, gasping for air. But strangely, his mind began to clear.

He hadn't known what he wanted before, but now, he thought he did.

Since Kaia had loved him in the past, and that affection had always been hidden in the shadows, he wanted to bring it into the light. He wanted to face it honestly and talk about it openly.

Without hesitation, Finnian grabbed his phone and sent Kaia a text: "Do you have time tonight? There's something I want to talk to you about."
