What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 603

After reading the public notice, Noelle's strength completely gave out. She collapsed onto the sofa, her vision going black.

Pearl sprinted over, but she was too late to catch her falling daughter. Noelle's head struck the edge of the table before her body slumped fully onto the cushions.

"Noelle! What's wrong? Don't scare Mom!" Pearl panicked, immediately shouting toward the door, "Martha! Call an ambulance! Noelle fainted!"

Pearl reached down to pick up the dropped phone. The screen was still glowing with the dismissal notice. She read it word by word, standing there in utter shock.

The Sanders family had actually made such a ruthless decision? Her daughter was still carrying a Sanders child, for God's sake! Did they have no conscience left at all?

Martha ran into the room, her legs feeling like jelly as she hastily dialed emergency services.

When the ambulance arrived, Noelle was carefully lifted onto a stretcher.

Watching the chaotic scene, Martha's mind was already churning, plotting her own escape route.

She had just seen a message in the Sanders' Staff Chat stating that Noelle had been stripped of all her titles, kicked out of the company, and blacklisted permanently.

Martha had originally been employed by the main Sanders household before being reassigned to care for Noelle. Noelle used to bribe her handsomely to dig up information, but now that they were stuck in this modest apartment doing menial tasks, Martha saw no future here. Her best bet was to secure her return to the Sanders family immediately.

So, ostensibly out of concern for the child in Noelle's womb, Martha quickly called Elaine Sanders and reported the fainting incident.

Elaine remained silent on the other end of the line for a long time before finally asking for the hospital's address.

Martha was a perceptive woman. She had keenly noticed that Noelle's relationship with the Sanders family was deteriorating by the day.

Had the Sanders family found out about Noelle's dark, unsavory schemes?

Looking at Noelle's pale face and blue-tinged lips, Martha had half a mind to curse her as a homewrecker, if not for the generous bribes she used to hand out.

"But what? Is the baby okay?" Pearl grabbed the doctor's sleeve, her face draining of color.

Dr. Evans looked at her and paused before speaking. "We performed an ultrasound. There is no fetal heartbeat. Furthermore, the patient is showing signs of severe hemorrhaging. I recommend immediate surgery."

Pearl froze in place, as if all the strength had been siphoned from her body. Martha quickly moved to support her.

"Doctor, please, I'm begging you. Save the baby. It's only five months along..."

Dr. Evans looked at her with sympathy, but shook his head with an air of helplessness. "The patient is losing a significant amount of blood. We cannot wait any longer. You are her family, correct? We need you to sign the consent form immediately."

"I won't sign it!" Pearl shrieked.

"I will sign it." Just then, Elaine Sanders materialized at the end of the hallway.
